What To Expect

Make your own way to the meeting point in the center of San Francisco, hop aboard your VW bus, and get ready to leave your heart in San Francisco.

Start with a drive through Haight-Ashbury, past the former homes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and members of the Grateful Dead. Continue through Union Square and the Civic Center to the Golden Gate Bridge where you make a stop for photographs.

After maneuvering your way along the world's most crooked street, drive through the neighborhoods of Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy, and the Castro while your guide regales you with fascinating stories from their histories.

Make another photo stop in the colorful Mission District and learn about its Latin roots before heading past Gollden Gate Park on your way back to the pickup point where your tour ends.

Cyrus was our driver/guide, and he was awesome - Knowledgeable and fun! The hippie was also awesome. Just seeing the vehicle makes you smile, and as you’ll learn through your two hour trip, it makes passersby all along the way smile as well. As we were clicking pictures of the sites, tourists and locals alike were snapping pictures of our cute van! Excellent communication and parking tips from the tour company. The small group tour is more an “experience” and it knocks the socks, off of any big bus tour.

Okay, but not all it was hyped up to be.

I just enjoyed hearing some local history about some of the sites. It wasn’t all it was hyped up to be. Cyrus focused mostly on the three women in our group from the UK who dressed up as hippies. We an another couple we’re just along for the ride.

We were warmly greeted by John our amazing host and our adventure started. With Johns excellent knowledge, warmth and driving skills we were taken on a fantastic journey around the sights of San Fran (reflecting our interests) at a perfect speed and with a very fitting soundtrack. We can genuinely say we smiled throughout the whole journey and often felt like VIPs as so many people waved at us all. We would totally recommend this trip - if you are lucky enough to tour at 5pm with John then enjoy and send him our love

Such a fun way to see a lot of the highlights of SF. Dave, our driver & guide was fantastic and the two couples on board were lovely people as well. Was a great mix The car, the music, the comments from passersby all added to the fun My sides were sore from laughing so much. Highly recommend

First thing to do in San Francisco

Best Trip ever for busy folks like myself. If you don't have time to read about San Francisco or look up most important spots to see, you should do this trip on your first day. Tara was fun and knowledgable. We booked for 8:30AM. The weather was awesome. No traffic. We cruised the town in this old VW bus with the right music in he background. LOL. If I come back, I'll may do this tour once again.

Book this!! It was so fun to ride around San Francisco in the Love Bus! Ky was an amazing guide! I really learned a lot about San Francisco in 2 hours. He stopped a few times to get out of the bus for pictures and he took some really great pictures of us!

Tour guide was fun, informative, and knowledgeable about the area. Our first trip to San Francisco and plane made us a little late for tour, but Tara phoned us and picked us up. Overall, a fun experience for myself and two 17 yr old grandsons!

Unfortunately tour abruptly ended. Need refund!

Ky was most informative and helpful unfortunately the tour ended 1/4 in after starter died on 72 VW Bus. Ky spoke to “tour owner” via his cell and a Lyft was paid for back to starting point. Ky reassured us the trip would be reimbursed fully. 4/4 I spoke to Viator customer service no refund yet until verification of all the above. $170 should have already be getting processed for refund. Very disappointing.No reflection on Ky he seemed like a genuinely nice person. I will pursue my refund. Laurene U. April 2024
