Pick up location Tokyo 23 wards. Pick up time is 8:30AM Due to Traffic we can be 30 Minutes Late. For the pick-up and drop of outside of Tokyo we will charge extra 7000¥.

What To Expect

Your day begins with pickup from your Tokyo hotel. Meet your private guide, settle into the air-conditioned vehicle, and head south.

Take advantage of your guide’s flexibility to customize your tour to your interests.Recommended activities include riding the ropeway up Mt. Kachi Kachi for panoramic views of Mt. Fuji or taking a cruise on Lake Kawaguchi.

You can also visit Mt. Fuji 5th Station, the final point on the mountain that you can reach by car or by shuttle bus (additional cost). Other popular activities include cruising Lake Ashi in a pirate ship, walking to Arakura Fuji Sengen-jinja Shrine and its pagoda in Arakurayama Sengen Park, and exploring the small village of Oshino Hakkai and its hot springs.

At the end of the tour you are dropped off back at your Tokyo hotel.

We had the best experience with Mukarram, we found out about him from the internet and he didn't disappoint. He was on time, told us great anecdotes and stories on the way about Japan and the culture and was always telling us the best places to go and what to do at each site. He picked out absolutely beautiful places to visit and made sure you saw the best places. He also had special areas he knew for better views which was a bonus. We had a 10 month old baby so we were apprehensive but it was very safe and comfortable in the car with him, he also provided a car seat which was fantastic as well. He allowed us to spend the time we needed at each place and was honest and upfront saying take all the time you want but if you stay here too long we may miss this as it will be closed etc.... All in all a fantastic experience and a very nice guy and someone who treats you like family for the few hours you are together! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time. Seeing Mount Fuji is a wonderful experience. Mukarram did an awesome job with our tour. We had great conversations about the local culture food many great things that Japan offers. He even came early to pick us up to avoid traffic. What a great tour guide!!

Great day seeing Mt Fuji and parts of Tokyo

We were on a cruise that stopped in Tokyo/Yokohama in mid April. We wanted to see Mt. Fuji from a particular vantage point, and really hoped that our timing would be right for cherry blossoms in the foreground. It was perfect! Our guide, Mukarram, picked us up at the cruise terminal (for an extra fee), drove us to 2 places that were absolutely perfect for seeing Fuji with beautiful foregrounds. It took about 2 hours to get to these locations, but it was worth it. We then went to Tokyo and had a brief visit there, seeing Shibuyo at night (sort of like New York's Times Square) and experiencing the famous Shibuyo crossing (super cool!), before heading back to the ship. Mukarram was very kind and he was much more than a driver. He told us about life in Japan and helped us understand the things we were seeing. He even took photos of us, and sent them after the tour. All in all, it was a wonderful day and I'm glad we booked this tour. Thanks Mukarram!

Amazing tour- Even better tour guide

Let me tell you about our epic Mount Fuji tour with Sebastian! So, even though the clouds were playing hard to get, Sebastian was like, "Not on my watch!" He hustled until we found that perfect spot to catch a glimpse of the mountain's majestic beauty. And let me tell you, Sebastian wasn't just a guide; he was like a walking encyclopedia of Mount Fuji knowledge. He knew all the cool facts and stories that made the journey super interesting. But what really stood out to me was his personality. Sebastian was not only wonderful but also incredibly kind, courteous, and patient. He never once rushed us, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Oh, and don't even get me started on the food! Sebastian had this knack for sniffing out the best spots to eat and the coolest places to see. It was like having a local friend showing you around. Overall, I can't recommend Sebastian enough for your Mount Fuji adventure. He's the real deal – knowledgeable, chill, and just downright awesome. Trust me, you won't regret it!

The beauty of Japan outside of Tokyo

Long ride in traffic

Our driver Shami, arrived and the start went well, although no bottled water offered. The long drive began . It was a very slow drive as there was lots of traffic . It was obvious our driver was tired so he stopped and we got to stretch our legs. He didn’t ever ask us he just stopped because he needed a drink. He did take us on a great boat ride to view Mt Fuji. We were lucky it was not cloudy. He then took us to a shrine and a place to see cherry blossoms. We asked if we were headed back because we didn’t want to get stuck in traffic going back. He said earlier that we should leave around three. He said no he wanted to show us one more place; Oishi Park. We got there and he said we should get ice cream so he helped us skip the queue and get a fast ice cream that was very tasty. We then had to wait for his friend to bring him an ETC card so he didn’t have to pay the tolls. We wanted to get going back. It took over 3 hours to get back. He again stopped on the way back to get himself a drink . He didn’t ask us he just stopped. I expected more from Viator. The driver should have had water for us for this long ride . He should have asked if we wanted music. Instead he took phone calls and did things on his phone to keep awake. He should have had more sleep and brought his own beverage for the trip. I have never had a driver do that and we have traveled all over the world. Pam

GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Ahmed, our driver and guide for the day arrived on time to pick us up. The traffic was heavy on our way to Mount Fuji, and Ahmed was a very good driver, and told us some very interesting history and information along the way. Ahmed took us to his favorite viewing spot of Mount Fuji which was away from the hoards of tour buses. It was a beautiful day with no clouds covering the top of the mountain, so we had a gorgeous view. Since the traffic was so heavy, we didn't have time to also visit Hakone before returning to Tokyo. We would definitely use Viator again when our need arises, and if we go back to Japan, we will request that Ahmed be our driver and guide again.

Leisurely trip to Mt Fuji

Ahmed, our tour guide made our day trip to Mt Fuji relaxed and comfortable. He made sure that we had a leisurely trip, but made sure that we didn’t miss any part of the experience including customizing our meals, locations and even souvenir shopping. Our daughter had specific places that she wanted to see and he assured that we found time to experience them.

Cherry blossoms on Mt. Fuji

Seeing Mt. Fuji w/ the cherry blossoms was an unbeatable experience, it was a magnificent view. The reason I am giving the tour a 3 instead of a 5 star was the driver (Ahmed) I would best describe him as just a driver. He took us to the main points, but had very little information to provide. Also his body odor was intense, not a good way to be trapped in a car for long periods of time.

Ali was an excellent guide who accommodated all of our requests. Took us to some nice spots and recommended the speed tour of the lake- which the kids absolutely loved with stunning views of Mt Fuji. Also wanted to incorporate in a private onsen experience which he took us to with fabulous views of Mt Fuji. Overall a very good day trip

Absolute waste of money

This tour was more physical that we expected from discription so there is a communication gap on that. We skipped several stops due to the ecessive lines. One stop had lines of 3 hours going up and 3 hours coming down. Tour and visitor people should work on that or you cut that out. International visors do that have that kind of time.

Pleasant time seeing Mt. Fuji surrounding area

Our tour guide was polite and respectful. He texted us prior to picking us up and went over the itinerary options with us as we settled down in the van. Our options were 2-3 stops in Hakone or 4-5 stops in Mt. Fuji surrounding area. He advised against going to Hakone since it was Sunday and would likely be very busy. We chose Mt. Fuji surrounding area. I agree with others that due to the time it takes to drive there (2 hours) and the time to drive back (2.5-3 hours) our time felt rushed. We had 45 minutes at our first stop, 1.5 at our second (to eat lunch took about an hour), 45 minutes at our third, and 45 minutes at our fourth (which includes a 30-minute round trip hike up 400+ steps). We didn’t have time for the Ropeway or Pirate cruise or anything else. The lunch place was great with a nice view of the lake if you are able to sit by the window. In terms of photography, there is no photographer. The guide can take a picture of your group with your phone if you ask, but our guide often opted to sit in the car so we only got two group photos. Granted, it was Sunday and Cheery blossom season so there were lines for everything so maybe that’s why our tour wasn’t as amazing as others.
