What To Expect

Meet your group and gondolier in Venice at Campo San Moisè in front of Hotel Bauer. Getting there is just a short walk from St Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco). Depending on whether you chose a morning or afternoon departure, show up a little before 11am, 3pm or 5:15pm

Your guide welcomes you, and helps you and the other passengers (up to six) board the gondola. As you board, notice the black color of your gondola. This wasn’t always the case in Venice. Venetian nobles used to travel in brightly colored gondolas to match their palaces, but a 16-th century law required them to be painted black, and they remain so today.

Once everyone gets situated, your gondolier takes off on the Grand Canal for your 30-minute ride. Slowly cruise down the canals as your guide points out must-see spots in the city, including Santa Maria della Salute and Ponte dell'Accademia. Continue your ride to the Fenice area, and then come back to the location where your ride started to get on with your day.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS. It was thunderstorming and the company WOULDN’T CANCEL the tour. We called and sent messages, no one responded to the emails and when we called they said that the Gondola ride was still happening. Do not book through here. Go to the gondoliers directly. A personal ride was cheaper

Was ok but with hindsight there are many better personal gondola rides and better value for money. Our was very short and felt very commercial.

The ride itself was great, though very busy. Once we got to the dock, the line moved quickly as the gondoliers loaded everyone efficiently. The trickiest part was finding the kiosk/meeting point. Took lots of back alleys and thankfully had digital map help. The kiosk is NOT near the dock, so then we had to follow the rep to the dock for loading. Ride was a good length and decent route, but got stuck in gondola traffic jam twice.

Was not memorable at all. The drivers was constantly taking to other drivers. The 30 min boat ride was only 15 mins. No explanation and and not worth the price. We had to wait 20 mins to be seated in the gondola as well.

I booked a ride for 5:15 PM and at 7 PM, staff offered to give me and my friend a refund because they overbooked and could not ensure we would be able to make use of the tickets purchased. They stated I would receive a full refund if I agreed to leave, but after 3 emails back and forth with Viator about the refund (that staff gave me instructions to fill out; and staff stated they would send an email as well), I have been denied any sort of refund and cannot connect with someone directly to resolve this issue. They overbooked the rides to such a significant degree that other patrons and staff were being heckled, to which I interjected and asked people to calm down and be kind; but this courtesy has not been reciprocated. Absolutely do not recommend booking this experience through Viator or with the company directly, given that dozens of patrons were turned away from the ride they received and purchased.

It was a waste of money. The gondolier didn’t even acknowledge us. They were just talking amongst themselves. Didn’t take us through nor talked about anything interesting. In fact we went through very ordinary canals. Very disappointing experience for EU 56 per person. I would advise to walk up to a gondola at night and get a quieter ride away from the madding crowds.

30 min Main canal gondola ride

Dispite it says that it is a 30 min, t only lasted about 20 mins, for 1,2,3 riders be ready to share your gondola. You will be better of renting the whole gondola for more than 30 min just for you. To validate your voucher you have to go to a meeting point in which you need to make a 20 to 25min line you will then get a a color sticker and follow the guide to the gondola p/u point another 10 to 15 min wait, I will not recommend this tour to any relatives friend and anyone In general.
