The powerful Doges ruled the Venetian Empire from the Gothic fantasy palace that is Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) until 1797. The site was one of the first things those arriving in Venice saw as their ships sailed through the lagoon and landed at St. Mark's Square, and the doges ruled with an iron fist—justice was often meted out here. Today, the site is one of the most well-known attractions in Italy.

Ticket redemption
Amazing tour guide and enjoyable experience. Only issue was where we had been told to redeem tickets first when actually its just at the meeting point. Caused confusion!

THE BEST tour guide!
Our tour guide Suzy was THE BEST EVER. She was friendly from the beginning and so knowledgeable. She did excellent tailoring the tour to keep the kids engaged. She was patient with them and her enthusiasm for her job showed. The Doge’s Palace was beautiful but it was Suzy that made it worth every penny. I would have missed out on so many details if she wasn’t with us.
