  • What To Expect

Your tour from Venice to Murano, Torcello, and Burano begins as you board your motorboat and set off across the Venetian Lagoon to your first stop, the island of Murano, which is actually several small isles dissected by a wide canal. Disembark the boat to walk around Murano with your guide.

Visit a glass factory, where you watch a glassblower creating beautiful pieces of glassware, a Murano tradition that dates back to 1291. Hear a bit about the island’s history from your guide, who tells you about Murano’s prosperity in the 1400s and 1500s, when it was the center of glassmaking in Europe. Then go admire other sights like churches decorated with mosaics and other ornamental details.

Next, visit Torcello, an island established between the 5th and 6th centuries, to see its ornate palaces and churches. Highlights include the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in the 7th century, and the excavated remnants of the baptistery in the Church of Santa Fosca. Then head to your third stop, Burano, an island known for its lace production, which dates back to the 16th century and was once the best in Europe. While you visit local shops and a museum to admire high-end lace on display, admire the island’s brightly-colored fishermen’s houses.

Your tour then ends with the return boat ride to Venice.

Not really worth it. Book when you get there.
    Terry_H, Apr 2024
Three 'tours' booked on a round-Europe Interrail holiday. Panoramaplunkt (Berlin) just the top floor of an office block, Mozart in Vienna: seats at the back with restricted view. Burano and Murano (Venice) : interesting 10 minutes watching glass-blowing, otherwise we could have just caught the regular waterbus to the island. None of the ticket offices really seemed to recognise the Viator vouchers.
    Lovely tour
    Ababri_H, Apr 2024
It was worth the money. The tour guide was lovely she did the commentary in English, Italian and French. The only downside is you spend too little time on each island but definitely a good idea to go on this tour if you have little time in Venice.
    Experience fun—but skip the middleman
    Amber_H, Apr 2024
Don’t bother booking on Viator—just head to the harbor and buy the tickets yourself for cheaper. The tour itself however was a great way to see the surrounding islands. I would rec the tour just not booking thru this website.
Floating around Venice islands & fish soup to die for
    John_P, Apr 2024
We really enjoyed the tour. Very flexible. The glass blowing demonstration was great and there was no pressure to buy anything afterwards. Can recommend getting some Fish Soup from restaurant Primo on Burano. Yum to the max!!
    Unique Venetian Island Excursion!
    Alex_C, Apr 2024
A very good excursion and definitely worth doing!! We were not sure about this excursion, but are so glad we did it. Burano was beautiful. We enjoyed the Murano glass exhibition and the church built in 639 AD on Torcello is quite the site! The guide was impressively explaining in Italian and in English, but her English was rushed and difficult to understand.
    Great value tour,...

Great value tour, beautiful islands which are really worth a visit! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
    Beautiful trip
    Teodora_M, Apr 2024
The trip was really nice but a little bit fast forward, 4.5 hours is not enough to fully enjoy the experience. Also recomand to Viator to explain better the meeting&departure point and time, the instructions are not so clear.
Well organised and value for money
    Roz_C, Apr 2024
Visiting 3 contrasting islands in one trip, Easy to book and well organised.. Added by the guide providing a commentary en route
    Excellent
    Janice_c, Apr 2024
Buarno was lovely and very bright and colourful. We had a lovely time. Glass blowing was amazing. Great tour
    Murano on top
    Thomas_S, Apr 2024
The glass blowing demo was of course the highlight of the tour. Torcello was a bit of a disappointment, Burano was ok; I'd reverse the order and leave Murano for last.
Fun experience, but hard to hear speaker.
    Danielle_T, Apr 2024
Loved the opportunity to see all the islands! However, it was very hard to hear the announcer describing the tour. I couldn’t hear most of what she said. Maybe having a print out of different facts and a map would have been helpful? Loved the glass blowing experience though!
Good option if short on time
    Nadia_W, Apr 2024
Glass blowing demo was great. Tour was well organised and feature point was easy to find and ticket redemption process was smooth.
    Uninteresting, unhelpful
    Kate_M, Apr 2024
The tour operator, ticket office, and guide were all treating the day like it was a chore for them. We were rushed from one location to another and the poor audio quality in the boats meant that we didn’t benefit at all from the “guided” nature of the tour
    Great value and lovely trip
    SARAH_B, Apr 2024
Absolutely lovely trip to the 3 islands. Very well organised, great guide . Choice of departure points which were easy to find. . Recommend highly
    Average at besy
    Jennifer_B, Apr 2024
You get what you pay for. It was average at best. We probably should have just stayed in Venice for the day.
Great trip but just wish it had been longer as felt a bit rushed
    Rachael_H, Apr 2024
A great trip especially watching the glass blowing. Love Burano it’s so pretty and the weather was gorgeous
    Quick Overview
    Heidi_N, Apr 2024
Was a quick view of each Island and some time to sight see. Just need more time. Would have preferred a couple hours at each Island.
    Murano museum
    Samuel_R, Apr 2024
The glass blowing demonstration was a great experience, then you walk in the shop and see the works of art they make. Just incredible!
    Noisy experience but nice
    William_S, Apr 2024
The experience was acceptable with the following caveat. The boat that took us to the islands was completely filled, and during the time when our guide was explaining about the islands as we approach them, the sound quality was poor at best. Much of the time I was unable to understand what the Guide was telling me because of Noyes and the number of People chattering. Of the three islands visited, Murano was the best of the three. Be prepared that the boat is unconditioned as far as temperature is concerned. If you visit when it is warm, expect to be warm on the boat. I would recommend this to Anyone who is OK with being around noisy crowds.
    It's a must in Venise
