In the last renovation, important areas of Theatro have been restored, highlighting the imposing eagle of 350kg that adorns the top of the building, which received 8,000 sheets of gold 23 carats of gold. Over a little more than a century of history, Theatro Municipal has received great international artists and important names of Brazilian culture.  The design was inspired by the Paris Opera. Since the 1930s, the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro has been concerned with maintaining its own artistic body. Today it is the only Brazilian cultural institution to simultaneously maintain a choir, a symphony orchestra and a ballet company.

Most Exceptional Tour in Rio
Lucimer is, without a doubt, the most exceptional guide in Rio! His knowledge of the city is unparalleled, and his enthusiasm & love for it are contagious. He is also a gifted photographer who captures the most picturesque scenes. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe throughout the city with Lucimer. Brilliant trip by Lucemir
Where do I start. From beginning to end the tour by Lucemir was amazing. He definitely went above and beyond. Lucemir was professional, friendly caring and extremely knowledgeable. In addition to the tour he captured a lot of photos - and ensured that I did not have to take my phone out, as saftey was paramount for him. A very kind and genuine person. I would highly recommend this tour.
