Close to the Old Harbor, Kolaportid is a large indoor flea market where dozens of stalls sell vintage clothing, second-hand books, antiques, and more. You can also buy Icelandic delicacies that range from dried fish and fermented shark to liquorice and kleinur pastries. This is a popular spot for locals and makes for some great people-watching, too.

If it’s familiar brand names you’re looking for, your best bet is Kringlan, Reykjavik’s largest shopping mall. The mall is filled with branches of Icelandic brands such as 66 North and Zo-On outdoor outfitters but also has outposts of H&M, Skechers, and Levi’s. You’ll also find plenty of dining options.
