John was absolutely wonderful! He picked us up at our hotel in a very comfortable van. He provided water and good snacks for the trip. He was very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. My husband and I had a wonderful day with John seeing the Waimea Canyon, the Spouting Blowhole, the Kauai Coffee Plantation with tastings, and shopping and a great lunch in Hana Pepe!! He even took great pictures of us. We also stopped to see green sea turtles and more.

Best tour ever

Jon, our guide, was a treasure trove of information. He clearly communicated the pickup details and was punctual. Jon knew exactly where to go and park for all the best views and photo ops. Waimea Canyon is almost beyond belief beautiful. Since we opted not to stop for lunch, we had time to go see the monk seals and sea turtles that had beached themselves for some sleep. This tour is more expensive than the others offered at the time I booked through Viator; however, it was worth every penny. You will not regret booking this tour. We’ve been on many in our travels, and Jon’s tour was the best.

Great for a first time visitor to Kauai

We were lucky to be touring the island with Jon for the day. He was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the formation of the island as well as the people that are lucky to live in such a beautiful place. The sky was clear for our trip, which allowed us to see some truly amazing views. Jon's experience knowing where to stop along the way made our trip that much better Would recommend to anyone looking to get a days briefing of all things Kauai. Bonus points: he was also a great photographer. Lots of pics along the way.

John was a wonderful efficient tour guide and we were lucky to see a beautiful clear view of Kalalau Valley and the gorgeous Waimea Canton. Added bonuses were 3 monk seals, sea turtles, the spouting horn and Wailua Falls. John was great about giving us information about our choices and kept us informed of how long until the next stop. He was wealth of information and provided water and snacks. We would highly recommend this tour

A great tour!

We were a group of 7 ranging in age from 19-65. Everyone had a great time. Our tour guide John was a wonderful guide to Kauai. He was well prepared with water and snacks. He had so many interesting facts regarding the culture, wildlife, plants, weather and everyday life in Kauai. He took our group pictures in great locations. He recommended some great spots to eat and shop. He had great stories. The places he took us were beautiful. The Kauai coffee stop was great. John was great in allowing us to move at our own pace. We never felt rushed. We would highly recommend John and the private Waimea Canyon tour. It was the highlight of our trip!

Great personal tour

John was very knowledgeable on the geology, flora and fauna of the island. He nicely suggested photo opportunities and took our picture without the awkwardness of asking others or oddly positioned selfies. He made the tour personable by asking what kind of gifts/souvenirs we were looking for, then showing us different stores/galleries that might be of interest to us. Overall a great tour and well worth it!

My wife and I did this private tour and absolutely loved it. Our guide Jon was so informative about the area and sites. He also added alternatives as the weather did not cooperate at the top of the canyon to catch a view of the Kalalau Valley.

Best way to see Kauai - private tour!

My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our day with John. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Kauai is absolutely beautiful and he made sure to show us all the highlights of the south and west side of the island. I wish we had an extra day to book the west and north shore with him. Kauai is a beautiful island to visit. This being our first visit, we were unsure of what to see. This tour highlights the must-see spots. We did this tour on our first day which also helped us to figure out what we wanted to revisit during our stay. The best part was our guide. He was super friendly and knowledgeable on the island, the people, and the culture. Highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful tour with accommodating guides

My family traveled to Hawaii for the cruise (Pride of America ship) and arranged this tour to view Kauai. John and Elena were great guides and provided a very enjoyable and memorable experience for us. We travelled with a group of 16, ranging from kids (4 years to the elderly) and that was not a problem! It was nice to have this private tour and John and Elena were very accommodating to our schedule and interests. They provided explanations throughout the tour, helped us take photos, and took the time to take us to many different spots (we even had a chance to see seals and sea turtles). They never rushed us and we thought the tour went at a great pace (not always easy working with kids). Overall, my family all agreed this was a great tour and helped make our trip memorable. John our tour guide was absolutely AMAZING! Extremely knowledgeable about the island and all the exciting points of interest. John took his time with us provided light snacks and water and continually asked if there was anything more he could do for us. Viator also made the experience stress free and informed us through email and text who and where our guide will meet us. I would highly recommend Viator (much cheaper than cruise ship excursions) and definitely request John as your guide!

Unforgettable and superb in every way!!

What an absolutely wonderful way to see Kauai! John was a superb local guide. So welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. We got to know the ‘real’ Kauai and see SO much of its stunning beauty close up. We had a full 9 hours of sightseeing. John had plenty of drinks and snacks for the tour and took us to a great place for lunch, and told us to take as long as we needed. John took as many photos of us as we wanted so that was an added bonus too! Also, John called us on our original date and asked us if we would like to rearrange our tour as the weather was going to be wet and he said we wouldn’t get the best views. We are so grateful he was so thoughtful and accommodating. We can’t recommend this tour highly enough. If you’re not sure BOOK IT!
