Great up close whale watching with a small group!

Great two hour excursion. We saw a group of competition whales fighting for one female, then we saw a mama whale with her baby and later listened to the whales singing. The captain and naturalist on board provided great information and answered all our questions. We went on the earlier boat and it was smooth.

We saw lots of whales, the crew was very knowledgeable. We had a great time!

We saw several groups of whales, mothers and calves, and escort whales. There were many breaches, and fin slaps. We may have witnessed whale hanky panky as well. We were comfortable and safe in the boat, it was a fun ride!

Our guides Emma and Lizzie (?) were very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information on whale behaviors. They were able to find multiple spots of whale sitings where we could watch them breaching and also see babies with their mothers.

What an amazing trip!! We took the 1:30pm whale watch and saw some incredible whales breaching, saw blainsville beaked whales, and even a tiger shark. It was an epic trip and so glad we took our two oldest grandchildren with us. What a trip to remember!!!

We had an awesome tour with Jeremiah and Sara. It was very windy but we felt safe the entire time and we returned dry! We saw multiple whales and two sets of female whales with babies.

Small group and crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. We departed from the Lahaina Mala harbor. We wanted to support a Lahaina business. This company has been through a-lot of tragedy w the fire last August. Book this tour! You wont regret it. Lahaina strong!

So many whales! Nice ride in the raft -got a little wet at times so bring a jacket. Good music for a party like atmosphere - some info about whales provided as well! Would never go back to a boat after this intimate experience -do it!

We were looking forward to this trip very much. We saw humpbacks from quiet close and this was nice. At this time of the year they are all around. However the crew, Cathy and Kristin, looked not very commited to provide a good tour, but to be happy to go back as fast as possible. Boat ride was fun, but I saw much better captain than Kirstin. I understand much more under a VIP Tour, not even water was offered. Listening to the whale song was great, but why only put the microphone 20 seconds in the water? Would not recommend a tour with these guys again - better what the whales from the beach!

We got up close to a few humpbacks, but especially a mother, baby & male. They swam right beneath our Zodiac & surfaced heads up on the other side & posed for some unbelievable photos!

Would go out with these guides every time if possible.

Kari/Carrie and Lisa were our guides on Jan. 25, and we scored with an excellent crew! Instead of stopping for a single blow here or there, they sniffed out some activity way off near Lanai and it was worth the trip. A mommy and baby were surrounded by several males that were jostling/fighting/jousting for her favor. While most of that activity was under the surface, there were up to seven whales around us for a while, with constant activity. While the males fought, the baby played blissfully, doing breach after breach, along with other activities. For awhile we were in "whale jail", which is what our guides call it when the whales are all around you so you're not allowed to move the boat. Who would want to? We saw a ton (many tons) of activity and it was great. On the way back, we slowed down to check out another mommy and baby, but then had to head back to the Mala Wharf. Just as we were pulling away the mommy, or a nearby large male, did a fully-out-of-the-water breach! It was magnificent.

Up close and Personal

We had the most up close look at male whales battling and competing for the females attention. The Captain put us in a position to observe without interference. The event went on for 30 minutes. During one incident a new male competitor came within 3 feet of our Zodiac and surfaced at maximum momentum. It was spectacular. That was the most memorable but one of many close contacts we had on our two hour excursion.

Even though it was the very end of whale season our captain searched the whole basin for us. We did see whales but it was just fun to be out in the water!

Great experience! Only 10-12 people on boat so every seat is an excellent seat! We sat and watched 2 male whales trying to impress the female 🐳. So beautiful! Saw a baby whale with his momma. He was jumping and flipping and having a great time. Saw a shark attacking something. When we got closer, it was a black plastic bag (probably a chum bag). Abbie captured the plastic bag to protect animals that might try to eat it. On the way back to the pier the driver (Kristen?) spotted 2 dolphins swimming next to a whale so we turned around to watch for a bit. Abbie, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the whales and explained the behavior of the males trying to attract a female. Highly recommended Ultimate Whale Watch Tour with Abbie & Kristen!
