Magnificent Luau

I did not expect something that good. The show was intimate, informative and beautiful. Every dancer and the MC had their heart into it and gave a stunning performance . The food was also good.

Great show, sub-standard buffet

The show was fantastic. The variety of acts performed and the level of professionalism was truly outstanding. The food was terrible. In initial group going thru line and rice already cold. Vegetables undercooked and also cold. Other entrees were just warm.

Great to hear you enjoyed the show! Buffet food is kept in chafing dishes with a constant heat source so I'm not sure what happened that your food was cold and this was not brought to our attention by any guests during any recent shows. We sincerely hope you will come back and give us another chance and on future visits if there are any issues please be sure to bring them to the attention of a manager during your visit. We strive to give everyone a great experience and appreciate your feedback!

Fire dancer and other dancers were terrific. Top notch. Food was good; seating was good. I recommend general seating versus premium. Premium people were sitting in the sun, whereas we were under an overhang. Premium folks had to vacate their seats and stand aside for the fire dance. We did not. Plus side of premium is service. You get first dibs to buffet line and a nicer lei. You get to enter the facility first. Overall, a very well organized event with excellent talent.

Pros: smaller and not as crowded, great food and the accommodated my food allergies, friendly staff, dancing is beautiful. Cons: pagodas limit visibility, not as many cultural pieces as I’ve seen at other luaus, chairs are uncomfortable.

Great to hear you enjoyed the food and dancing and received great service. We are a smaller venue and it is a more intimate experience than the larger "disney-fied" luaus at the bigger resorts. The chairs in general seating are lightly padded wooden chairs, the ones in VIP seating are larger, have more padding, and are more comfortable. We hope you will visit us again in the future and we appreciate your feedback. Mahalo

Other thank getting a late start, everything was very good. The show was amazing for our very first luau. The food was excellent and was all u can eat. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive to your needs.

Service was great, food was great, entertainment was great. The staff was polite. We also liked the intimate setting. Not a ton of people. I would suggest the premium package because you got in and got to order your drinks before everyone else came in. Plus you sit right up front by the stage.

Entertainment was phenomenal and impressive! Food was scrumptious and a decent variety! Drinks were a bit diluted, but they’re unlimited so we just two to equal one lol. Setting and sunset was perfect!

It's a lot of money to pay for drinking out of paper and plastic cups. The bathroom was Porta potty on the side of the dumpy bar It's in in the dark. Show was good, food was good, drinks were cheap and limited choices. Would not recommend at all.

Glad you enjoyed the show and the food. We have a selection of 5 or 6 draft beers, several wines, champagne, and 4 tropical cocktails. We used to use glass cups but had guests continuously dropping and breaking them so to ensure safety and reduce interruptions from cleaning up glass we switched to paper and plastic. We were having our restrooms completely remodeled and the renovations are now complete so no more porta potties!! Thank you for your understanding while construction was under way. We hope you will be back in the future to give us another chance now that the renovations are complete. Mahalo!

The show was great the only thing was that the hostess when you get there has an attitude. We also paid for VIP tickets and there was no VIP about them, just the going in first part was good but the seating was not great, I think the other people had a better seating.

Golf Course Luau with Great Food

The Gilligans's Island Luau in Kihei, Maui was a fun experience. The food and drinks were tasty, and it was nice that this event didn't have a huge amount of people. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the music and performance. My wife and I didn't have the best view of the staff and we somehow got separated from our other family and wasn't able to sit next to them during the show. We asked the staff if we could be placed at the same table but they were unable to facilitate that move.

Very enjoyable and excellent food! No need to pay for any upgrades as it's a small group and there isn't a bad seat anywhere.

The luau was a wonderful experience!! The music, singing, costumes, multiple dance performances and fire twirler were awesome! There was a narrator in between dances explaining the dance and culture background of each dance. Even though she was miked, I only heard a little of what she was saying because of the background guitars. They should not play when she's talking. The food was very good, but was a little on the not so warm side. Overall, a very wonderful evening!

Aloha, Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience with us. The restrooms are currently undergoing total renovation and we have temporary facilities that are serviced daily and cleaned multiple times throughout the day. As advertised, we are a smaller, more intimate venue and we are located on the golf course with beautiful views of Haleakala, the ocean, the course and spectacular sunset views. I wish you had mentioned something during your visit about the food being too salty for you so we could have addressed the issue during your visit. I hope you were able to enjoy some cocktails, the live music and dancing. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.
