Walking tour and Gaudi

We had a private walking tour in different Barcelona areas. Raphael was an excellent guide; addin a lot of history context to our tour. The experience was fantastic.

Julie was our guide, she was very nice and we had a good time. It felt more like walking with the friend and not "official tour". Be aware that you don't go inside to any of Gaudi buildings, its only outside. Outside and not all of them. You go by metro between Casa Mila and SAgrada familia, which we didn't mind but other people might expect some kind of private transportation on private tour. In Sagrada familia you are on your own without the guide, you will have audio guide that might or might not work , like it didn't work in our case. It is just strange that from all 3 tours we took with Viator in Barcelona, all tours guides were not from Barcelona at all. Its hard to get excited from the tour guide who tours about Sagrada familia and has been inside only twice and don't know most of the facts.

Sophie was smart, knowledgeable, considerate and jock full of info. One piece of clarity for the tour. The guide does not join you for the tour of the Familia ( which by the way was inspiring, magnificent and awesome. Pace of walking could have been a bit slower given the age of the tour twosome.

Luigi was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide about the city of Barcelona. He was both humorous and inciteful. He lead us on a fantastic, historical journey through out the city.. We very much enjoyed the trip, and we were left with a much greater understanding of the city of Barcelona!

The City That Gaudi Built

I had a great time on my tour. Milena was a perfect guide. I learned so much about the history of Barcelona in general and about Gaudi in particular. I wasn’t clear that this was a private tour. (I didn’t realize this when I booked it.) At first I thought it might be awkward and a little boring by myself, but Milena was so personable that I soon felt like I was exploring the city with a friend (albeit a very knowledgeable one). When I finished the tour at La Sagrada Familia, I could really appreciate all the details of this masterpiece as a culmination of the artist’s life work. I was here with my family in 2009, and it’s incredible how much progress has been made since. I know we just scratched the surface on Gaudi. I can’t wait to learn more.

We need more than 5 stars for Raphael!! A great guide, speaking great English, showed up on time, and communicated the day before to confirm. But that wasn’t the best part… the 3 hour tour with lots to see & do, non stop information, a good pacing and even a brief stop. We could not have asked for more. Bravo Raphael!

We met at 09:00 and quickly learned we had a new guide, Jennifer! We were lucky to get her! She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly to spend a half day with. We walked all over the city looking at a history of Gaudi and all of his hidden gems and other architectural interesting and important buildings. We got ahead of the line and received recordings to guide us through the Familia Segrada. We had an amazing time! We highly recommend this tour!

An excellent introduction to Gaudí and to Barcelona from our guide Zsófia followed by our visit to the Sagrada famila using the audio tour facility which was fabulous. Over the following days of our visit we made full use of Zsofias suggestions for places to visit and restaurants for eating.

We were met promptly by Milena for our walking tour of Barcelona, ending at the La Familia sagarada Cathedral. This is considered one of Gaudi’s Masterpieces. Melina was extremely confident and communicated information about Barcelona About Gaudi, and about living in Barcelona. Due to some walking difficulties, she remained cognizant of the speed at which we were covering the area which was greatly appreciated. Melina was friendly and spirited in conversation about her life, our lives and also about the various locations which she lived in prior to Barcelona. I would recommend her as a guide to anyone who wishes to do this tour as she was extremely helpful to us allowing time for brief stops for water or coffee and for toilet breaks. The line feature of allowed us to go straight into the cathedral without waiting in a long line of other people who may or may not have had reservations , the cathedral is a must in Barcelona.

We were fully engaged with stories and wealth of information as we meandered throughout the Gothic cathedral neighborhood and old city, Ramblas. The whole experience gave us a good overview of Barcelona and its history and its world known artists and their contributions.
