What To Expect
Meet your guide and group of up to 12 people in central Barcelona in the morning and head to Santa Caterina Market, a Barcelona food market similar to the famous La Boqueria Market but with far fewer tourists. Enjoy samples of cured meat and cheeses then head to a local market bar for a glass of cava and a traditional sandwich.
Next, head into the winding streets of the medieval Born area to continue your gastronomic explorations. You’ll discover a number of lesser-known Barcelona food vendors, including a nougat shop that’s been in business for over a century.
Leave the Born neighborhood and head to seaside Barceloneta for an aperitif. Sip vermouth inside a corner bodega and sample what locals believe is the only type of tapas invented in Barcelona.
Finish with a traditional Spanish lunch in a hidden gem of the fishers’ district. Chow down on seafood paella, paired with local wine.
You’ll end the trip after your lunch with a full belly and a head full of new knowledge about the locals-only eating habits of this famous Catalan city.

Hector was an amazing guide.We had so much fun and learned so many things. It was personable, and delicious. By far the best "excursion" on our whole vacation. We had been ona two week cruise and extended in Barcelona so we had lots of tours.
Hector let us in on neighborhood secret spots and we felt quite smug that we found them. He told us when to see a cathedral for no cost, where there was a speak easy, and the best most authentic place for the best Paella!

A fabulous tour! We chose this food tour as the first thing we scheduled in Barcelona and we were so happy we did! We had a fabulous time in a market trying hams, salami, olives, cheeses and more with a glass of cava! Then we were off to a the oldest bakery in Barcelona, a wonderful nougat shop, for tapas and vermouth and paella with tinta verano. We got pretty full and learned so much about the local cuisine! We also learned a lot of history, got a bit of understanding about how to navigate Barcelona and other fun facts. Our tour guide Ariana was fun to be with, knowledgeable and accommodating and clearly had great relationships with the shop owners and restauranteurs. We didn't want it to end. We loved this small group walking tour. Our guide Benedetta was wonderful. Her English was excellent which isn't always the case with guides. My husband has some physical challenges and she was attentive to his needs and very kind. If we had to think of a complaint, it's that it was almost too much food! Everything was delicious.

Our guide, Alex was very informative, prepared and made our tour fun! We started with the beautiful food market and tried several charcuterie items: cheeses, meats and olives. Then on to several more places ending with the best paella. Alex shared all the history of the area and the great food!

This was my least favorite food tour I have ever done. The guide was okay but lacked the energy and enthusiasm I hoped for. He seemed distracted by his phone most of the tour and didn't seem very interested in the experience. Not worth the money or time.

Ariana was a great guide. She gave us a little history and lots (maybe too much) food. We also got to visit historical locations in Born. For those interested in exploring the market where the tour started I would recommend coming early, since the tour doesn’t cover the market.

This was an excellent tour with Adrianna, where she exposed us to so many local foods, history, and culture! She delivered the information in a way that truly enriched the entire experience and she was so warm and welcoming to questions and requests for recommendations.
