Overview

Experience tablecloth dining along with the Cirque du Soleil® show 'JOYÁ' at the Vidanta Riviera Maya resort. Allow yourself to be mesmerized by the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter seeking out the secrets of life. What To Expect

After pickup from a central meeting point in Cancun's hotel zone, travel to the tropical forest north of Playa del Carmen. Arrive at JOYÁ's custom-built theater, the first permanent Cirque du Soleil show outside of the United States.

As the show begins, immerse yourself in the adventures of a teenage girl and her alchemist grandfather. After finding a mysterious gem in the mangrove forest, the young girl must complete a series of challenges set out by her grandfather. After the show has concluded, enjoy transportation back to Cancun.

    The actual cirque show was good. Transportation when purchased has one pickup point in Cancun and not from the hotel which was not made clear before booking. Also, if you choose 715 pm the show does not start until 10 pm which was also not clear resulting in us having to book a taxi there and back despite paying. Didn’t get out until 1230. I would recommend going through the website.

    TIP: If you're doing the DINNER PROGRAM, the food is AMAZING and I don't want to give any spoilers. But IGNORE others tips and "don't come early." We got there at 4.30 for the 6.00 "show" only to find out "Doors open at 6.00". Then it's meals from 7.00-8.00 and showtime is 8.00. Also, conflicting details on their websites about KID FOOD when you have the DINNER program. There IS one Kid Meal, which is Pasta with red sauce / with pot roast chunks. That's about it. My kid = super picky and didn't love it, but.. I liked both the adult beef meal and KID pasta meal quite a bit. :-) They were also very accommodating about family allergies. Also, I saw the show two or three years ago, and.. the basic STORY changed, of course the ACTS changed over the years.. which was GREAT.. so if you haven't seen the show in a while, say, 2-3 years.. just come back again.. ! Additionally, AFTER the show there's a bar there... with a band (same band) from a few years ago. MAN that woman can SIIIIING. So if you're not rushing to get home, plan to stay AFTER the show just to listen to the singer belt out modern pop hits with her three piece band over a drink. There's also a restaurant on-site next to the bar, I guess in case you didn't want to do the CIRQUE dinner.. but.. why would you? The CIRQUE dinner is insane and one-of-a-kind.. so if you have a choice.. do that.

    Great show and dinner experience. Dinner provided excellent options and was an experience within itself. Prior to the show. Definitely worth it. When buying on Viator be careful you can not pick your seats and although we were seated near each other we were not at the same table.

    Was very entertaining, English variation of the story could have been a little clearer, but still made sense. Note: Lots of walking from drop-off area to theater.

    Joya is not one of the best ever from Cirque du Soleil, but enjoyable to enter a beautiful dream world. The two male pairs as acrobats are phantastic, the others more mediocre. Even if I compare with previous shows, it is well worth visiting! When booking the tickets it says it starts at 6pm, but actually it starts at 7pm. This should be mentioned on the ticket, as it feels that the 6pm is put for commercial reasons only so that people go to the bar and comsume some drinks beforehand...

    The show and service was great! Bus ride was a little disappointing. Very long and not much communication between riders and driver. We were left at theater not knowing if we were going to be picked up at a certain time and where?

    A wonderful experience! We have seen several Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas and the performance here was every bit as good, just on a smaller scale! We will definitely go again! We followed the performance with a wonderful mayan meal at Nektar, just next to the theater. Also, I was unaware that my wallet had slipped out of my purse prior to entering the theater. It had my ID, credit card, and several hundred dollars in cash! The staff was able to match up my ID with my ticket and found me at the performance. The contents of my wallet were totally intact! We are so grateful for the honesty and integrity of those who were responsible for returning my wallet to me! Such wonderful people!

    Joya is a wonderful outing while visiting Cancun and the nearby surrounding areas. I would recommend doing the dinner and the show. The combination is what made the event special. Alone the show or the dinner would not have scored five stars, close but not quite there. But, together they merge to create a unique experience unlike any previous cirque du soleil I have attended. A must see.

    Everything was amazing! The transportation was seamless and the drivers were accommodating to my mom’s wheelchair. The coach bus was nice and air conditioned. Upon arrival, there is an outdoor bar area to grab a drink before the show. The aesthetic was gorgeous! Such a beautiful location. We chose the food option and there was so much attention paid to detail. Everything including the menu was edible. The presentation of each course was stunning. The show was great too! This was an all around fantastic experience. Yes, the price is high, but I think it was worth it! A gorgeous visual experience!
