We will be meeting at one of three restaurant locations, depending on the day of the week. -Mondays and Fridays at Aloha Juice Bar. -Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Tropical Taco -Saturday and Sunday Hanalei Taro and Juice Co.

Highly recommend doing a food tour while on the islands! Our guide was amazing, very thoughtful when considering the food options (confirmed everyone's dietary restrictions), had a great variety of options to try along our route and ended the tour at Chocolat Hanalei! We were also able to hear some of the history of the island along the way as well.

Amazing time. The weather was not ideal but the food was amazing! Well worth the drive to Hanalei. We were able to experience the amazing delicacies of the island and then some. The macadamian cream pie…OMG!!! You won’t leave hungry.

Besides the good food,( fish tacos, gyros) the chocolate and frozen treat, we learned a lot about the area. Jedidiah was very informative and was very attentive to us. It was only 4 of us so it was very relaxed experience

Amazing food and tour of local owned businesses. Our tour guide, Jedi was terrific. He has a big heart for the island and all the beauty it holds. He shared valuable information on the plantation , how the land blesses the people. Truly special experience to have had.

We really enjoyed our guide Jedi’s love for Hawaii, and taking time to talk about where the food we were enjoying comes from, the history of the area, and the importance of honoring and respecting the land and the people who work the land. The food was on the tour was great, and Jedi talked about other family owned businesses, their history, and gave some tips about where to make early reservations or good times to be able to get in. The day was beautiful and we were really glad to have the chance to walk through areas we probably wouldn’t have thought to explore.

Discovery some unexpected places.

Discovered some cool places (food vendors) and shops that I would not have found on my own. For example, there was a cool vintage shop that was off the beaten path. The food part of it was great as there was a variety of food to try and it was very small establishments that we normally would not have known about. The tour guide was great!

Shout out to Jedi who was a wonderful tour guide. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the island, culture, and of course, the food! He took great photos for us, too! We walked through the bustling town of Hanalei and sampled a great variety of sweet and savory delights. We were shown places to shop and even more spots to eat at. The scenery was beautiful along our route and we were able to stop outside a beautiful garden beneath the mountains. We had so much fun. I only wish the experience could’ve been longer—although we were quite full at the end. I wouldn’t have minded a 3-hour tour. Definitely would recommend this activity to all!

Nalu was such a pleasure to be with during his fantastic food tour of Hanalei. His depth of knowledge was impressive, the food selections were a big hit, and the company of the other groups on the tour was nice. Nalu displayed a lot of attention to detail and provided excellent service throughout the entire experience. It was especially thoughtful he reached out before the tour inquiring about any allergies, etc. Top notch service and experience. One of my highlights was meeting the nice man at the chocolate shop. Another highlight was the pie. Absolutely knock your socks off good. All Nalu’s selections were on point. I highly recommend this food tour.

Fun, but not a well rounded variety of food

Definitely more of a sweets experience than a savory one. We had pork with taro and chicken with ponzu sauce, then a series of desserts (acai bowl, macademia pie, chocolates). Was hoping to get some fish or more savory dishes- by the end we were pretty sweet-ed out.

Every tour is different. None of our lineups are 7 days a week since the lock downs. A poi bowl and chilli pepper chicken plate are two full savory lunch servings on their own. Option 3 mentioned, Acai bowl, is a choose it yourself stop, also available for you was fish jerky and several other savory options. Please call (808)464-7759 to explain what we could have done to make it a 5 star experience.

This was a really nice tour. Made better by the fact that we were late, and the host waited for us which doesn't happen often. This was a great way to explore Hanalei and sample some of its fabulous cuisine whilst getting exercise at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Max Nalu share a variety of foods and local history of the people, restaurants and traditions that was very impressive. I tried foods I normally would not eat and actually enjoyed nearly all of them. It was a unique and worthwhile experience. I would recommend it to my friends and anyone interested in learning more about the foods and culture of Hawaii. Thank you Nalu!
