It’s kinda far from the main tourist area but it’s worth it I swear ! We took a 25 min cab ride . Everyone there was so friendly so welcoming so lovely ! I loved every minute of it ! You pick your kimono and the beautiful helpful ladies dress you up and even style your hair ! The wonderful gentleman leading the tour takes good pictures and tells you how to pose . We had tea with the tea master and she explained every step . They also guided some of us to make the tea :) it was so fun ! Highly highly recommend !!!

Really enjoyed the tea ceremony. It was really informative and a lot of fun! It was an intimate tea ceremony, with kimono's and a delicious pre-ceremony sweet!
A lovely experience in Kyoto!

We enjoyed learning about the history of the tea ceremony. Dressing up was quite fun and the kimonos were beautiful. The tea ceremony was very interesting and we got a chance to serve tea to other guests as well. Our hosts were very kind and made the whole experience one to remember.
One in a kind tea ceremony

Certainly one of the highlights from our Japan vacation. Our excellent host provided us with a full immersion into the Japanese culture. We were all wearing wonderful kimonos, our sons had even samurai style and shogun style kimono. Thanks to her excellent English, we could get answers to our many questions. This was an afternoon full of kindness and we went home happy and delighted.

Very fun experience. We got to hear some history behind the ceremony, taste the tea, and make our own
Nice. Nice. Nice.

The Teamaster, Caren, was a great hostess & explained the tea culture, ceremony & formalities particularly well. Her team were all very friendly & seemed to enjoy the visit as much as we did. A joy from start to finish & the 90 minute experience was over far too quickly. Highly recommend a visit…
A special experience

This ceremony was the highlight of our Japan trip. We got to experience wearing beautiful kimonos and participating in a master tea ceremony. It was intimate and we got to explore the history of the tea ceremony through both the tea master and the interpreter. I was honored to be part of this intimate experience! My grandniece got to perform a small ceremony with the guidance of the master. Incredible legacy being shared with us! The only was to experience this is to be in a small group setting and this lived up to a wonderful time!
Top trip memory

This experience was unforgettable, starting with being dressed in formal kimono all the way to being able to mix our own tea after the tea ceremony. Learning the steps of a tea ceremony, seeing the meditative nature of the process and being able to share that with your group was so meaningful. We even got to pick our own patterns for our kimono and plenty of time for pictures. A top memory from our trip!
Fun and recommended

Great cultural experience! It was very interesting to wear traditional kimono and learn the detailed of elegant dance of a tea ceremony. This experience inspired me to make my own matcha tea, so I am looking forward to treat my friends with a tea ceremony back home. I highly recommend the experience.
Great family outing

Best experience in Japan!
Soraya_N, Apr 2024
This was 1 of the best experiences I'd on my travels in Japan. I highly reccomend it. Sassa (our host) was amazing! The other 2 ladies dressing us up on our kimonos were so cute, I wanted to take them home with me to be my japanese mums! 🤗 We learned about when the tea cerimony began and why. And we get to make a bit of the matcha tea ourselves. It's such a beautiful and well worth time spent. You feel transported back in time! I loved every minute of it!
Beautiful small tea ceremony in lovely setting.

Absolutely beautiful tea ceremony in Kyoto. We were 8 in the room and there was a translator who translated what the tea master said and also gave us a lot of information about the history of the tea ceremony. We were dressed up in the most beautiful hand painted kimonos. Do not miss this. It was the high light of our trip.

My favorite experience in Kyoto! Everyone was so kind and they do small groups so it was just our family of 4 plus a couple. The kimonos are high quality and beautiful. All the ladies are so nice! We all had great fun and would definitely recommend it.
