Couples Tour

Driver picked up exactly when and where the 4 couples requested. We had purchased tickets in advance for the of the museums in Florence. He got to Florence and waited until we were finished touring the Uffizi and Accademia galleries.( It’s best to have your tickets and time already booked weeks before you come to Florence) Drove to Pisa where the driver actually lives in the area which gave the tour a personal touch.

Our private tour was the best and so was our exceptional tour guide, Simon who picked us up promptly from our port, Livorno. Four of us enjoyed everything about the tour, beautiful Pisa and Florence. Simon took a detour to show us more of the Tuscany region, dropped us off for some local shopping time in Florence, and recommended a super local downtown restaurant for lunch. We appreciate his knowledge, professionalism and warm and nice personality. This a must for any tourists and we highly recommend it. Thank you Simon! -Jim and Sunny

What a fantastic day we had! Our guide was top notch, kind, fun, and very knowledgeable. Easy to find in port - he whisked us from the doors of the cruise terminal on a lovely day long adventure! We saw Pisa, overlooked Florence, then down into Florence for the afternoon. I would highly recommend taking this tour!

Simone did a great job getting us up close to many of the attractions and got us around some pretty bad traffic. He was a great tour guide making our experience a real joy! When traveling through the Livorno, Pisa and Florence area, we would heavily recommend Simone!!!

Having this private tour was great. Our driver Marchella was knowledgeable and savvy. While all other tours were going to Pisa first, we went to Florence first and Pisa second and was able to avoid many of the crowds. Her knowledge of the cities were remarkable and not only did we learn a lot, but she took us to places that others could not go and experience like a local. I was amazed by the sheer beauty of Florence. I was amazed at the countryside that we drove through. A tour worth the money and time

We booked this as a shore excursion when we were in Livorno port for the day. Claudio was our driver and he was great. He met us right at the ship and drove us to Pisa and Florence. He knew right where to go for the best picture spots and made sure to communicate with us clearly as to when and where we would meet when he dropped us off to explore at a few locations. Highly recommended!

Our driver and tour guide for the day Simone was excellent. He is friendly and professional. Picked us up at the ship and returned us on time. We had a very enjoyable day seeing the sights and trading stories with him. He is very knowledgeable of the countryside and its history. I highly recommend a day trip with him.

Our driver, Simon, is a native of Pisa and, though our intent was to quickly see the Leaning Tower and Plaza Miracole, his brief drive through town gave us a much greater appreciation of Pisa. The transfer to Florence was quick, efficient and comfortable. He knows his way around town quite well. He dropped us off at Plaza del Duomo and gave us excellent walking directions to the other major sights that we wanted to visit.

We had a wonderful day in Pisa and Florence. Simone greeted us as we disembarked our ship and took our group of six directly to Pisa. He is very knowledgeable about the area and shared a lot of information with us. It was raining in Pisa and he provided us with umbrellas which was a nice touch. After that he drove us to Florence, first to a view point and then right into the heart of the city. We arranged a time to meet him at the end of the day and it was easy to communicate with him via WhatsApp. I highly recommend this tour - Simone does a wonderful job.

Where to begin? Simone picked up myself, my mom and daughter from the Livorno cruise port. We were in port on a Monday, therefore the museums were closed but Simone took us to all of the top sights to see. He was able to get us very close to the attractions because we were in a van. We were able to hop out and take photos as well as walk around if we wanted. He told us where to meet him when we were finished. Forgot to mention my 82 year old mom was in a boot up to her knee and could not do any of the walking my daughter and I were doing. Simone not only kept her company but offered to go and get her espresso's not once but twice! After we had seen the sights of Florence we had asked to do a winery. Special Tours NCC recommended a small, family owned organic winery called Fattoria San Michele A Torri. We booked a reservation in advance directly through the winery. It was lovely, in the heart of Chianti. Lastly, we didn't think we had enough time left to make it to Pisa but Simone said it was possible. Again he got us as close to the Leaning Tower as possible and we were able to get out and take some photos. Pisa is Simone's home town and he shared a lot of history about the city and all of the sights along the way. Our day with Simone was flawless from the beginning to the end. He was punctual, knowledgable, kind and generous. Thank you Simone for making our day in Florence unforgettable!

Caterina was fantastic- super flexible on allowing us to spend time extra time when we needed it. Also knew exactly where to go into each location and had great local recommendations - she even called to make a reservation for us at a fantastic restaurant.. very accommodating and conscientious. Fantastic private tour of Pisa & Florence

Overall an excellent tour of Pisa and Florence. He was prompt, considerate and enthusiastic. He customized the tour to our needs. We enjoyed not the tour locations but the conversation about history and the Tuscan region of Italy. Simone picked us up from port as instructed at 8:30am (reached out to me the day before via email to confirm details). In a Mercedes minivan, he took us to Pisa Immediately next to the monument area and gave us guidance on time and items to see. Next we went to Florence. On the way he shared information about the Tuscany region of Italy and the country in general. On arrival in the city, he first took us to see an excellent view of Florence and gave us time to enjoy the area. Then we visited the Duomo, Cathedral and Ponte Vecchio by foot. My mom had difficulty walking and Simone took us as close to the area as allowed. He set up time for pick up. Over the next 3.5-4 hour we ate, walked around the monuments and admired the statues. He dropped us off to port shortly after 5pm. I highly recommend him for a private group tour. The minivan can take you closer to the major spots than a large bus.

Fantastic Florence and Pisa

We were lucky to paired with our driver Stefano. Our ship was delayed arriving in port and Stefano made sure we still got to our tours of the Accademia and Uffuzi galleries on time. He was excellent in getting right to the exact spots we needed to be and took the time to pull over and take some special family pictures for us. Highly recommend booking this tour!

My husband and I did this Florence/Pisa tour from the Livorno cruise port, plus a visit to a Tuscan winery the first week of May 2022. We had a BLAST. Simone was our guide, we couldn't have asked for a better guide or a better experience. He was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, we had such a great experience! If you are considering booking this tour, just go ahead and do it, you won't regret it!

Pisa and Florence From Livorno Cruise Port

Could not have asked for a better tour. Simone picked 3 of us up on time. He was where the other pivate tour operators were located and he had a sign with my name on it. Simone was a local from Pisa and he explained to us the history of Pisa. Unfortunately, it rained the day we went to Pisa, and Simone had umbrellas for each of us, even though we had rain jackets and rain pants to help us stay dry. He never left us wondering where he would be. He parked the Mercedes van in a location that was convenient and easy to find. Once we completed our visit to the Leaning Tower of Pisa (stayed as long as we wanted), we were off to the country side of Tuscany headed to Florence. We stopped at the Plaza that overlooked Florence for some unbelievable pictures and sites. Next we headed to the city of Florence. First stop was to see the Statue of David. Lucky for us there was free entrance to the Statue and once again, Simone made sure we knew how to get into the museum and then said, the car will be at this location when we were finished. Next stop was Florence. We had about 3 1/2 hours in the city. We were hungry by this point and Simone told us about a very nice restaurant in Florence which we walked to. It was fabulous and the 3 of us had a wonderful lunch with no complaints. Then we went on our own walking Florence, going into the various leather shops as well as the other shops that Florence had to offer. This is an absolutely beautiful city. We came back to the car about 3:45 PM for our journey back to the Livorno cruise port. Arriving at 5:00 PM. The tour lasted for 9 hours and as I said earlier, it could not have been better. I would highly recommend Special Tours NCC when you arrive to Tuscany. Very professional, timely, and knowledgeable. Thank you, Simone.
