  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Royal Palace tour a must see!

Maria did a fabulous job walking around old town and a tour of the place. A bonus was a military parade for May 2nd that wasn’t planned during our tour. We scheduled this tour last minutes and we can say this was one of the best experiences we had during our stay. Highly recommend!

Too Many people and bad equipment

Unfortunately the audio equipment didn’t work and we couldn’t hear the guide. Nothing was done to sort it. There were 30 people in our group which was far too many. The guide was lovely but the experience was bad.

If I could give a 10 star rating for Jose and this tour I would! He was an amazing guide and so informative! The palace tour is must see for the history of the city and Spain. The scope and breath of his knowledge exceeded all expectations. If in Madrid this a must!!!!

Our tour guide was wonderful and full of knowledge. She imparted knowledge about the palace and Spain’s history effortlessly. Only problem was that our audio devices did not work so it took about 30minutes to get them working. Once we got going the tour was great!🙏🏾

Interesting tour marred by technical problems

This was a very underwhelming tour, unlike several other tours we have booked through Viator, including of the Versailles. The things that stood out are the following: 1) The radio transmitters never worked well, the guide’s voice kept going in and out. the reason for this is because the units were old and in poor condition and the headset made poor connection resulting consistently in broken or lost audio. 2) Once at the palace we had to wait about thirty minutes to get in because there was only one security line. 3) The tour was advertised as small group but was more than 20 people big. Today we did a small tour of the Prado with seven people. 4) The guide kept moving fast from room to room leaving very little time to see anything other than in passing. It felt like we were on a high speed tour of the palace. 5) I cannot opine on the guide’s knowledge of the palace history and details as the audio kept going in and out throughout the tour making most of what she was saying unintelligible. I complained several times about this and the guide went through the trouble to bring several new units which unfortunately did not address this technical problem. The palace tour is worth doing, although I would suggest you try with a different tour guide. The one we had contributed to a completely unsatisfactory tour.

The tour office was easy to find and the palace was amazing. The tour guide was informative but used inappropriate language and gestures while children were present. He should have know better.

A most satisfactory tour
