What To Expect

Your morning starts with pickup from the Port of Naples or select hotels in central Naples by air-conditioned bus or minibus. Then, make the roughly 25-minute drive to the Pompeii Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On arrival, follow your guide to the archaeological site. Your admission is included with the price of this tour. Spend about two hours exploring the open-air ruins with a guide. During the low season from November to March, your live guide is replaced by an official interactive audio guide for groups of less than six.

Next, head to Amalfi, where you stop to see the Amalfi Cathedral, a medieval Roman Catholic cathedral in the town center. If you choose a tour with the lunch option, you’ll take a break for lunch.

End the day with drop-off at the Port of Naples or select hotels in central Naples.

Be hopeful you do not get this guide!!

Not enough time in either places. And the tour guide (Francesca) did not make sure everyone was together. The whole was gathered together waiting for the driver Goiovani (who was late at Pompeii). When the driver finally arrived, Francesca did not look to make sure everyone was in the van. She was ready to leave with 2 people behind. Also is was so hot in the van. We asked for the air to be turned high yet they didn’t comply.

The good and the not-so-good

Our guide on the Amalfi drive, Francesca, and our guide at Pompeii were very good, however the drive through the mountains and along the Amalfi coast was like a roller coaster and we didn’t find it enjoyable at all. Really glad that I took my Dramamine because I would have barfed for sure without it. We were looking forward to stopping for lunch and walking around Amalfi, but the area was so packed with people that it was difficult to enjoy what I am sure is a lovely town. Pompeii was the bright spot of the day. Our guide was very knowledgeable. In retrospect, we would have skipped the Amalfi coast portion (a ferry or boat would be a much better way to arrive there) and spent the day in Pompeii.

Gabriel was an amazing tour guide. High energy and very personable. The trip was so beautiful. The Amalfi coast was amazing. Lunch was amazing. Pompei was very fascinating. 10/10 must recommend.

Must to do if in Naples and have short time

Fantastic tour. A must when you visit Naples and don't have much time. Lookout from Sorrento, Positano was mind blowingly beautiful. Might give you motion sickness as the road is extremely windy through Amalfi coast. Take some ginger tablets if you are prone to motionsickness. A view was awesome from the car. The guide was amazing, cannot remember her name. It was raining heavily at pompei, which was only down side. Everyone got soaked properly. I highly recommend this tour

Great drive to the Amalfi coast, stopped at a couple of sites to take pictures and sample limoncello. Good lunch at Amalfi. As the last stop we went to Pompeii which was the prime reason my wife booked this tour. The poor guide was only given 2 hours because some cruise passengers were in the group and had to be back before the boat left Naples. She (the tour guide) had to rush and we had little opportunities to ask questions or take pictures.

Tour at Pompeii was amazing. The coast was beautiful. The van was a bit cramped, not much legroom and one of us had to sit in the front seat between the driver and our guide. Thought we were taking a bus. Our driver was a master at maneuvering thru the traffic.

While this trip was great we wish we would have known a few things before starting. First the Amalfi Coast was beautiful but comes with VERY windy roads. For two people who don’t typically get car sick, we both had to go to the closest pharmacy when we arrived for motion sickness pills. Despite the windy roads the tour bus driver continued to drive very fast and often was exceeding the speed limits, often accelerating quite a lot only to slam on the breaks seconds later. Additionally, the tour guide (Noami) was great however added a stop to the trip by asking us if we’d like to stop at the Lemonchello factory, we all agreed that would be a great stop but we were given 20 minutes at the location and later discovered this was also where her boyfriend was stopping with his tour. This stop looked like more of a reason for her to socialize with her boyfriend than for us to explore what turned out to be a look off with a very small gift store with a window to view the “factory” which was just lemons on a conveyer belt (shown in photo). After this stop at the factory we proceeded to be rushed at all other locations (that were paid for and advertised). Had we known this was the cost of stopping we would have never agreed. For the Amalfi Coast we were given 1 hour to explore with no guidance as to where the popular tourist attractions were, we were given a meet up time and then scolded like a child when we arrived on time … all because the others in our group decided to come back to the meeting spot early and had been waiting for us. Finally, when we arrived at Pompeii we were handed off to another guide who was excellent however we were never given a meeting point from our original guide and the Pompeii guide had no idea where to send us to find our guide, thus, we lost one of our group members for approximately 15 minutes, yet no apologies were extended to us for her being late.. While the trip was amazing the sites were great to see, the entire trip seemed VERY rushed and most of the time was spent sitting in traffic. If this is a common occurrence in April (which was suggested) I wouldn’t want to take the tour during the busy season as you wouldn’t have any time in any location. For the money spent, the tour should definitely be longer, I paid to see locations not sit in traffic. Lunch was okay, pasta with tomato sauce - nothing crazy.

It was amazing to see what it was like over 2000 years ago. They had invented so much back then that we use now. To see marble floors and painting on the walls. The coast was beautiful and interesting to see as well. It was good and relaxing bus trip.

Tour without a local guide, just a taxi driver

We booked this tour with live commentary on board and local guide. The person who picked us up immediately mentioned that he was just the driver and not the tour guide. We were under the impression that we were going to pick up the tour guide along the way but that was not the case. During the 6 hours we sat in the car we received almost no information of the surroundings, history or whatsoever. How is this live commentary? The driver went too fast down the narrow winding roads to and from Amalfi, sometimes tailgating the car in front of us or trying to pass a car where it was not even possible to do so. Also he was texting and driving at the same time which lead to unsafe situations. This is unacceptable during driving and holding responsibility for multiple people. We requested a partial (as the Pompeii tour was nice) refund of our tour as we were very disappointed of the outcome of it and we did not get what the site promised. The message we received back was “Unfortunately at this time we are unable to refund” with no explanation why. Not very customer friendly ☹ So basically we paid €135,- per person to get driven around without learning anything. There were 5 people in the car so the company earned a small €700,- on this trip. This is a complete rip-off. We don’t recommend to book this tour.

Dear client, I am sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour at its best, when we have groups that don't meet the minimum number of people requested, as stated on the product page, you will receive audioguide instead of a live guide but we still provide english speaking drivers and/or assistants so that they can still give some general info and some anecdotes about what you see during the trip. Regarding the other issues thata you mentioned, it sounds very weird as we have very professional drivers and I think that if he would have been constantly at the phone we would have known and taken some measures on the same day. We hope to see you again on one of our other tours so that we can make you change your mind!

Disappointed

The locations were amazing and the lunch was delicious. However, the transport was not to an acceptable standard. The driver went too fast down the narrow windy roads, with speeding up and slowing down to cause some guests to have motion sickness. There was no concern shown (offer to take the corners slower, no sick bags or offer to sit up the front). The guides were hard to understand and seemed disinterested. With what was anticipated to be a fantastic experience, we were disappointed in this tour.

WORST TOUR EXPERIENCE EVER

I got picked up and the bus broke down and had to wait a hour then they put me with a tour group of another language when I requested english , the worst part is I accidentally booked this tour multiple times and repeatedly called saying I needed a refund for the same multiple tours as I was already doing a tour with them and they refuse to give me a refund and wouldn’t take no for a answer when I said I didn’t mean to book the same tour twice more included showing up to my hotel after I called them repeatedly saying the double booking was a accident and I didn’t want to do the tour 2 more additional times . TERRIBLE

Excellent tour and guide

What a great day! Our guide, Gabriel (Casavega) was excellent. He took us to great spots and kept us on pace to get back to our cruise on time. Amalfi (and coast) was beautiful, but the real wow was Pompeii. Gabriel handed us off to a Pompeii guide, as is the process there. We were here in March, so the crowds and the heat were not an issue. Did I mention that Gabriel is the best tour guide ever?! Well he is... he told us himself. Highly recommend

Daniel was a great tour guide and able to translate to English and Spanish. Lunch was okay. Not the best but a nice inclusion. Carmen is the best driver especially on those narrow Almafi coast roads!!! I wish the group was a little smaller at Pompeii with Luiga as it was hard to keep up. Also, it was very hard to understand him do to his accent. He was very nice though. Worth the $. Would recommend

It was awesome and plenty of time to wander alone plus cool fun facts from our tour guide Giovanni. Wish the tour was a little longer but that’s just because we couldn’t get enough of such beautiful views and gorgeous architecture. My only con was that when I booked it allowed me to choose my pickup location and I wasn’t notified that it wasn’t possible until the day before so we had to rearrange our schedule because the pickup point was very far away from where we were, but as I said, we were notified so at least we could make arrangements to get there in time. Thanks so much!!
