Private tour of Pompeii is hard to beat.

Our group of 6 was picked up promptly at our hotel and driven in a comfortable van to Pompeii where we met our tour guide. Paolo has a great personality and, as a resident of Pompeii with a background in archeology, shared his passion and extensive knowledge of the ruins and its history. We had a really fun time (Paolo shared some great stories and tidbits) and learned a lot; a small private tour like this is definitely the way to go and our tour guide, Paolo is the best!

Fantastic tour start to finish

Fantastic tour , it stated out with our driver picking us up at the hotel. Early ready to go and full of cheer! Then he talked to us about the region drove us to the site. Our tour guide Romolo was brilliant in every sense of the word. First he assesed what we wanted to see then adjusted his tour. His family was multi generation from the region and he shared great stories. He brought the history to life so vividly. He said and I quote think of me as tour friend Ill answer any question and Ill even take pics if you like. The tour was a 10 oot of 10 and I highly recommend trying to find #Romolo

The enthusiasm of Romolo our personal guide was the best aspect of our tour. He was great. the coordination of Viator precluding the actual day of the tour was outstanding. Touring Pompeii was a bucket list item for me for many year, and since I am now 73, this was to be the last best chance for an actual tour of Pompeii. This visit was an add on to an already planned spiritual pilgrimage to Sicily and Rome with my church and I decided to add on an independently planned visit to Pompeii. Having a personal guide for just my wife and I was definitely worth it.

From the start of our tour, which included a pick up at the Naples Train Station, to the tour, to dropping us off in Central Naples, the Tour was excellent! Driver was excellent at pick up, drop off and service. Our tour guide, Paolo was excellent - was great with the tour, explained things very well, and explained to each of my kids (different ages) the many different items of Pompeii. Very much enjoyed the service and would recommend it.

Went to the wrong pick up point, but Nick, our driver, tracked us down. He was on time and even helped us find a restaurant for lunch. Romolo, our guide, was excellent! He had an intimate knowledge of Pompeii and showed us areas that did not seem to be on the larger tours radar. Overall an outstanding experience!

This was my wife’s and my second time to Pompeii and our friends’ first. Paolo was one of the best, if not the best, private tour guide our group has ever experienced (and we ONLY do private tours)! A private tour was the way to see Pompeii. It was a great tour, our guide (Rovello I think) was amazing and so knowledgeable. Our only regret was that we didn’t make arrangements to see Vesuvius up close and do the hike. Otherwise it was a perfect day and would highly recommend!

The Private Tour of Pompeii is a Must Do!

Our guide Paulo made this tour very fun and interesting! It was really nice having him all to ourselves for our family of 8. His knowledge of the ruins is incredible and he was able to steer us around the ruins in the best way so as to avoid the crowds. We could never have seen so much and learned so many interesting facts on our own or in a large group tour. The communication on where to meet was clear. The van driver that picked us right at the exit to the cruise port was very nice too. The van was ride was super comfortable. At the end of our tour, we asked the driver to drop us off in the Naples city center for some shopping and pizza (recommended by Paulo). He made sure we knew how to walk back to port before he left us. I highly recommend this private tour.

The only reason I did not rate this 5 stars is that we only had a little over 3 hours when it was advertised as a 4 hour tour. For the price, I think we should have gotten all 4 hours. Other than that the tour was excellent and the guide was very knowledgeable.

The tour was good, very interesting place and guide was knowledgeable. The problem is the driver they sent to collect us from Naples, the guy was rude, always in a hurry, continue lay on the phone while driving, not just talking, he was TEXTING WHILE DRIVING at high speed. No regard for road rules, I had a argument with him to stop texting. PLEASE DON’T BOOK FROM NAPLES IF YOU VALUE UR LIFE. Arrange ur own transport to reach Pompeii.

They don't speak fluent English but drivers are NEVER rude or should do anything as you mentioned. We have finished business with the driver and he DOESN'T work with us anymore. This was the best tour I’ve ever done. You will not regret booking it. My husband and I, and our two teenage daughters booked this tour for a cruise stop. We were met at the port, driven to Pompeii, and met Paulo who was waiting for our car. Very smooth and easy process. Paulo was the best guide. Wonderful English, fascinating stories, and details that you just would never have noticed or understood without him. It felt like we were transported back 2000 years, and Paulo was the mayor of Pompeii- he knew every street, described buildings, catered the tour to our interests, answered every “what was that?,” and was so polite and patient. Our daughters absolutely loved it as well. We spent the evening talking about everything we saw and learned. I promise, this tour is worth every penny. Enjoy.
