A must experience to take
Kay_K, Apr 2024
This was fun, but it made me sad! However we should always learn about our history so we can learn and grow!
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for your feedback. Did our service cause us to lose two stars? If so, will you please go into details about it so that we can address the issue?
Enjoyable and informative experience
JoAnn_P, Apr 2024
Slave quarters and historical background. The film in the theater about sugar cane informative. Beautiful setting with the oak trees.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for the five-star review, Joann!
Long bus ride
Catherine_B, Apr 2024
What to expect: if you don’t go on the airboat ride and just take the Oak Alley plantation tour, you will remain on the bus an hour extra to drop off airboat people before you turn back to New Orleans. This was not mentioned in what to expect.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for the your feedback. Please know that the return route is on the way back to city and it does take about 15 minutes extra, not an hour, due to the stop to let the combo tour guests off to get on the other bus. We understand that this is 15 minutes out of your time, but it is the best solution that we have to accommodate everyone.
Excellent
Susie_B, Apr 2024
Excellent from hotel pickup to drop off. Driver Gary was a Katrina survivor and told us his story. Plantation was incredible.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for the five-star review, Susie!
Plantation 8/10, travel 3/10
Zachary_C, Apr 2024
Almost missed the trip since the email told us we would be picked up on the opposite side of the hotel. We’d have never seen the bus if hotel employee hadn’t said asked us who we were waiting on. The plantation itself was beautiful and interesting but the guided part was only 30min and his cajun accent was so heavy my wife and I only understood about 1/2 of what was said. Lastly, afterwards they had others doing additional excursion on the same bus so instead of going straight back, we had to go drop them off (added 30-40min to the ride back that we were not planning on.

Took the transportation with the tour company
Jason_H, Jan 2024
We took the transportation with the tour company. They picked us up right at our hotel. Pretty convenient and driver Gary was friendly. The ride to the plantation was cool, got to see the terrain of southern Louisiana, all marshes and swamps beyond the horizon. The plantation itself is also an enriching experience. Lots of history. Highly recommended.
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you for the five-star review, Jason!
A memorable trip to learn American history
P2_W, Jan 2024
The trip was fulfilled by learning a lot history from the past and visit beautiful plantation with iconic oak tree alley. Took a lot pictures and learned a lot what happened there. Well worth it. If you visit NOLA, I highly recommend to add to your itinerary since history is part of NOLA. The trip was well coordinated and on time. If you miss the bus, just call them and they will circle back to get you shortly.

Never visit!! Robert Laws, the house manager, was RUDE AND CONDESCENDING
Sandra_L, Dec 2023
The tour was lame at best. The limo/bus driver didn’t say a word in all 70 minutes and the house tour itself was 20 minutes. I learned nothing I wouldn’t have educated myself on the plantations website. I made an error on the meeting point site for the house tour and we arrived 3 minutes late. The manager, Robert Laws, was EXTREMELY RUDE asking me why I couldn’t listen to instructions like the rest of my group. At first, I thought he was being funny, but he was dead serious and kept demanding my questions saying ‘you need to be quiet and I’ll tell you what I can do.’ After some nervous banter, I begged my husband and children to stay quiet. We were allowed in to meet our group which had just started (nothing was too late to join). The actual tour guide, Amy, was amazing. After the tour, I asked to speak to Mr Laws to thank him for allowing us to enter but when I provided feedback he was even more demeaning than before. I repeatedly said I knew I was late, but his manner in communicating was in appropriate on a tour where southern hospitality is an expected staple. To my surprise, he added, ‘you shouldn’t have been shopping and should have arrived on time.’ I was really speechless. I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 24 years and my husband is a law enforcement officer, and we were in shock to have received such disrespectful behavior. We recorded the interaction and I can share it at anytime, if you wish. At the end, he mannered his arms asking my children to walk off the porch - he practically threw us out!!! I WILL NEVER VISIT there again. My children were distraught the entire day. The worse money spent on any of my vacation tours. I did ask to speak to Mr Laws’ manager, Ms Hillary Lobe, and she did meet with us to apologize. Her experience was truly the thin icing, and she was the epitome of hospitality. I have written to the Dept of Parks and Recreation suggesting hosts like Mr Laws receive additional training to ensure no other guests leave so ashamed like he made us feel.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you for the feedback. We do not have ownership over Oak Alley as our company only provides the transportation. However, we will gladly forward your feedback to Oak Alley Plantation.
Oak Alley short “Half Day” experience…
Korey_K, Dec 2023
Oak Alley was sooooo beautiful!! My only complaint is you just don’t get much time for this “half day” adventure. I was picked up at 8:20…the first of many pick ups. Our driver was amazing and super nice but she had to collect payment from one couple on one stop down the road. They had an old brochure showing $10 cheaper. We literally waited a very long time for someone to come meet the bus with a new brochure to show them the new price. Didn’t arrive to the plantation to around 10:15 and then our pickup was 12 to go back… then even had to wait longer at another random location for a different bus to pick up people going on to another tour… I would have liked to at least had another hour to walk around and take pics. You don’t even have time to grab food from the restaurant cause it’s so rushed. So if you add about 15 minutes waiting for new brochure and 20 minutes for another van picking some up. That’s over a half hour of added time I felt I lost. I do highly recommend the plantation itself. The house tour was lots of great information and the oak alley itself is amazing to see. I do hope to go again and spend more time.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize for the inconvenience that occurred that day. We will do our best to take that into consideration for future tours.
Worth the drive
Samantha_W, Dec 2023
We had a lovely visit to the well maintained and beautiful property. We took a full tour on the bus - about an hour and 20 from New Orleans with a couple of hours at the site. I would recommend dining in the Cafe, the food was awesome, hot fresh and delicious. Excellent well run business and tour.
Response from Host, Dec 2023
Thank you for the five-star review, Samantha!
Worthwhile tour and only takes half a day.
Rosemary_A, Dec 2023
An enjoyable day out to visit a piece of history. The house tour was very interesting and the grounds were extremely well maintained. We had a lovely lunch in the restaurant before taking the bus back to New Orleans.

Plantation Tour
Julia_R, Nov 2023
It was a very interesting place. The tour of the house was very good, and the tour guide very knowledgeable. The gardens were pretty and well kept. The slave quarters were good, but I thought you would be allowed inside the huts not just looking in from the outside. Could have done with a little more time there. Would have been 5 stars but for these two reasons. But glad I went and would recommend going.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thank you for the positive feedback, Julia. We do not have ownership over the plantation as we only provide transportation to and from there. However, we will gladly forward your feedback.
Ok
Tamara_A, Nov 2023
It was a bit overpriced for the experience. Driver a little nuts - irrational behavior- laughing to himself.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the experience was not what you expected. Please feel free to leave us additional details to how we could have earned five stars.
