What To Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Cancun or the Riviera Maya (major hotels only), then travel to a beach on the Caribbean coast that’s perfect for spotting turtles. Put on snorkeling gear and swim out from the beach, following experienced snorkel guides. Beginning snorkelers can use this time to get tips on snorkel technique, with guides swimming alongside you the entire time.
You’ll have one hour in the water to swim in an area known for the turtles, an amazing chance to see the marine reptiles as they paddle through the ocean. Watch for bright coral, eagle rays, and schools of colorful fish as you snorkel through the bay, which is protected by a thriving coral reef.
Following the snorkel, continue to a cenote, an access point to a freshwater, underground river. Use your snorkel gear to see what’s beneath the surface as you swim in the cenote, then dry off for a snack of fresh fruits, pastries, empanadas, and refreshments. This half-day snorkeling tour concludes with a return transfer to your hotel.

- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
- Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Everything about this tour was amazing!! Our tour guide, ilaria, was full of knowledge and had a wonderful personality. I cannot day enough good things about our excursion. We are making plans to come back to Mexico this summer to swim with the whale sharks!!

It’s was a nice half day trip Kelly was nice the only thing I didn’t like was as we were being picked up I was informed of a $15 per person tax that I wasn’t aware of not a deal breaker but it made me feel I was being taken advantage of

A full hour of swimming with Turtles. Very friendly staff. Clean, cool, and comfortable transportation. Excellent instruction for first-timers. Arrival before the crowds was super.

Great tour from a reputable company and friendly guide (Natalia). The turtle experience was amazing - we had 45 minutes in the water and it was not too crowded due to the early start. We saw turtles, stingray and starfish.
The Cenetone was also a great experience, it was in a cave so different from the others on offer in the area.
However, drinks and snacks not as described. Just water and some low quality mini pizzas. Not the soft drinks and empanadas described in the advert.

We had only five in our group and my van arrived 10 min early which worked because I was there. Our guide was so personable and friendly and really took time to talk and get to know us. We went right away to the beach and went out in a rinky-dinky boat. The guys were nice who ran the boat and made sure we had our gear in good working order. We dived right in and saw 2 turtles and 4 stingray! It was amazing! Then, we went to two cenotes, both underground. It was an amazing experience! I highly recommend!

Fantastic tour and probably best if you book it here rather at the hotel. We had a great guide Miguel who briefed us on swimming with turtles in the car. Then we went to the beach and started swimming, it takes around 40 minutes over a designated area on the beach. It is not guaranteed that you will see the turtles but there is high possibility that you will. After swimming we drove to cenote which was underground, and it was a great experience.Definately would recommend this short but great trip!

The tour was fantastic! I loved snorkeling in Akumal...it was just enough time. The Cenotes were fabulous! I appreciated the knowledge Linda shared with us concerning the history of the Cenotes and why the coral reefs must remain untouched and intact, I was traveling alone and most of the tours would not do a hotel pick up for a single person but Viator does!

By far the best crew ever! We saw numerous turtles. The guides would point them out to us. They wanted everyone to experience this once in a lifetime sighting. My daughter was extremely nervous about snorkeling although she can swim. The crew comforted her and she was able to get close to turtles and got a great video from the experience. The cenotes were stunning! The entire trip was perfect!

It was ok. Pickup was prompt. Guide was multilingual, but we were sitting in the back of a 12 person van with squeaky shocks, and her voice did not travel well, but she was very polite and knowledgeable. We ended up going down to the beach south of Tulum, walked to the beach , boarded boats and a 2 minute ride to the reef. Reef was dying, few fish, but we did see some turtles , which was the hilight of the trip. Turtles approached me as if they were looking for food. Only spent a max. of 10 minutes in the water. It would have been nice to stay there for at least 1/2 hour to explore the rest of the reef. Then off to the beach, where they tried to upsell us on pictures taken by a guide. This wasted at least 45 minutes to an hour . If I had known it was this long, I would have swam back out to the reef. It is what it is, but I get tired of people trying to sell to us all the time. Back to the bus , had a snack and some water, then off to the cenote, which was a private one, and was a decent one to dive in. Good lighting and some interesting structures . Back to the hotel. All in all, an ok trip, but knowing what I know now, I would have taken a bus or cab to the beach south of Tulum and done it on my own for basically cab fare.
