Iconic

It’s iconic and you just have to do it. More of a stop and take pictures kind of tour but still fun. The tour company was highly accommodating and friendly as well. The time at the lagoon itself was short (we were only given about an hour once we arrived even though the itinerary says 2 hours) but enjoyed it very much. Would def just do lagoon separately so you get all the time you need.

Don’t book this tour if you’re on a cruise!

This was the worst tour experience we had and I’m NEVER going to book with Viator again— and you shouldn’t either. I spoke to 3 different agents before booking this excursion and they ALL assured me based on my cruise schedule that I would be fine on time to book this. Well…. This was not the case. We informed our golden circle tour guide Rosa that we needed to be back by a certain time to catch out boat after the blue lagoon and she NEVER indicated that we would not be able to get to our blue lagoon part based on our time schedule. There was no rush to get us to the separate bus (which we weren’t informed we needed to do) to make sure we had enough time to get to the blue lagoon and back to our ship. Instead, they dropped off all the passengers to going to their destinations and even the tour guide, and left my husband and I as the only to left on this bus to be then dropped off to pick up a blue lagoon bus where we had to wait an hour to get a ride to the blue lagoon. The driver for the blue lagoon bus even laughed at us saying there was no way we can we get to the blue lagoon in time. We were made to feel stupid. No one was on our side at Reykjavik sightseeing and we had no other choice but to forfeit our money spent on the blue lagoon portion of our tour. No one told us that it was not going to be a seamless trip from one excursion to the next. The whole time we were anxious about time to get to the next leg of our tour. After we decided to forfeit the money for the blue lagoon, we had to walk 40 mins to get back to our ship since they said there was nothing they could do for us and we had to take it up with Viator to get our money back. After explaining over and over again to different people and Viator, they refuse to give me my money back for the blue lagoon portion of our excursion. We would never booked this tour knowing our timing was not going to work.

Long day but worth it.

The Golden Circe tour and the Blue Lagoon were excellent. The tour guide on the Golden Circle tour was very knowledgeable and informative. We got collected at the cruise port and it was a bit chaotic as there were multiple buses and there was no tour guide there to organise everything It is a long trip lasting 13 hours and it is 2 separate tours. We got no information about the admission process or the return time from the Blue Lagoon

Great sights but disorganized

What we saw on tour was very nice but the tour itself seemed to be very unorganized. Pick up at the cruise terminal was chaotic with no clear indication what type of bus or company we were looking for. In the middle of the tour they were switching people in and out of different buses several times. When we switched to the Blue Lagoon bus there was no mention of what the process was when we arrived and no one told us what time we had to be back out to the bus to leave. We asked the driver and he just told us sorry he didn’t know instead of trying to find out from someone.

Golden circle and blue lagoon

Guide was very good, sites were amazing. All in all a good experience. Would recommend, did the blue lagoon with this, it was a bit odd. Caution if you are considering. Long day, transfer was quick and driver gave no instructions as to what we were going experience or even a pickup time. When asked he just said he didn’t know be back at this spot? I asked inside and they told me last bus left at 8:15. Not sure why driver didn’t know this? We made it but… Witnessed several people left behind because they came a couple minutes late? It was 8:30 pm and 47 km from hotel. Hope the company covered cab. Because it would be a very high cost. Ugh.

Beautiful scenery

The sights around the Golden Circle were absolutely breathtaking. I am rating the tour a 3 because of the tour guide. She was very rude at times to several people before and during the tour. The area where the bus parks at the beginning of the tour is poorly marked. Approximately 20 buses to look through with hundreds of people trying to locate their tour bus. I believe with better signage it could be a little less chaotic. Our tour started approximately 40 minutes late due to people hunting for the proper bus. This was the first point where we experienced our tour guide’s rudeness towards others. I can’t remember her name, but she is a blonde middle aged woman who needs to find another job 😕. If it wasn’t for her I would give this tour a 5+

Good Tour!

Golden Circle Portion of the trip was fantastic and I would highly recommend it! For the Blue Lagoon portion, this was a bit confusing as the first part of the tour was on one bus then we had to transfer and wait for the next tour bus to take us to the Blue Lagoon. There was no information provided and guests were frustrated with the lack of communication. When we got to the Blue Lagoon we were just let off the bus with no instructions on the process or what to do. My recommendation would be to have either a pamphlet or the bus driver to communicate to the passengers what to expect and what to do when we arrive at the Blue Lagoon. A QR code could also be used for information to read on the bus (45 minute ride) while heading to the location. Overall, the Blue Lagoon is amazing and well worth the experience, just need some communication from the tour company on what to expect and where to go for drop off and pick locations.

A long day near Reykjavik

It is a long day. These are 2 separate tours which was not clear. We had to wait an hour + at the bus terminal to continue onto the blue lagoon. Lots of walking which was fine, just not clear in the description. It was stated as an 11 hour tour but in actuality it is more like 14. We were able to get an earlier bus back to the cruise terminal from the blue lagoon so it was 13. The blue lagoon is worth it and the sites on the golden circle are interesting. Just wish the description was better!

Too much time on bus with little reward.

The falls were beautiful, the odd geyser. We never attended the lagoon as there were numerous delays and way too many people at each location. The restaurants were packed and very disorganized. This tour spends too much time on the bus. No snacks provided. Really pathetic. You must review how this all works. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.

Golden circle was excellent, Darren was a great guide trip very nice. Blue Lagoon was awesome only issue return not well organized. Wh we were dropped off ask what time to return told inside would tell us. No one did so when we came out no bus driver around waited awhile with no one to ask , ended up getting a ride back to port w another bus. Please improve communication

Very disorganized experience. Nothing happened according to what we were told. Bus drivers would change the route in the middle of drop offs. We were dropped off several times and told to catch another bus and such.

I know this is a popular your, but you could do it quicker on your own if you have a rental car. The parliamentary lake is underwhelming. Maybe spend ten minutes. The geysir is great and the falls are amazing. Both can be done without buying tickets and at your own pace. After that, you get dropped off at the bus station and wait for another bus to take you to the blue lagoon. You need tickets to enter the lagoon which you can get online. Take you car and leave whenever you want. If you are two or more people, it’s less expensive to drive than take the tour.
