In July and August due to the heat the duration of the visit is 2 hours and a half

The remaining amount is voluntary and includes services provided by skilled licensed guides, headsets, booking fees, and other tour amenities. Our goal is to provide transparency and ensure your understanding of the cost breakdown, allowing you to fully recognize the value of our guided experience.

This tour was great and exceeded our expectations. Gabriele our guide is very knowledgeable. Our advice for anyone considering is to wear good shoes. There is walking and climbing ancient steps involved. There is also a lift if needed.

I am so disappointed that I can not remember the name of our guide. He was a very knowledgeable young man and I would love to give him the attention he deserves. He went at the perfect pace for a group of many ages and fitness levels. He welcomed questions at any given point, showed pictures as a point of reference and engaged the group in every step. The office staff at check in were kind, efficient and accommodating to our group. I really wish I got names, I appreciate you all!

Great Tour, but Poorly Managed

We did love the actual tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum! Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job breaking down the complicated history so we could easily understand! However, Crown Tours, who this tour was operated through were a disaster. The instructions through Viator stated to arrive 30 minutes ahead of our tour, which we did. We were told to wait to check in and waited for ~20 minutes. We were then told our tour wouldn’t begin for another ~25 minutes. I’m short, we waited over an hour before even starting our tour, which started over 30 minutes after our booked start time. The whole process was a mess and Crown Tours was very unorganized and non-communicative. I would not recommend using them.

Not the tour for us

We were not informed the time of the tour had changed by 30 minutes. An email informing us of a time change was sent 2 days after the tour. We arrived 30 minutes early as instructed only to sit and wait an hour for the tour to begin. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable but bordered on talking too much and boring our group. There was a lot of crackling in the audio the whole tour.

Couldn’t understand guide :(

We couldn’t understand a single word the guide said to us :( 4 different people asked her to speak slower but it just didn’t happen. She was super kind though. I think we started with 20 people and by the end everyone had quit the tour except 8. The company refunded me 50% when I reached out, which is nice but the tour took away my groups will to live soooo unsure if that’s enough.

Rough start to an excellent tour

Overall the tour was very good the guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the colosseum and the locations. We had a rough start as a result of a transportation strike leading to us arriving 15 minutes late. We had to pay extra for a new time slot which was not part of our plans. The strikes in Italy are ridiculous. To end on a positive note our guide once again was exceptional. He was animated, entertaining and super knowledgeable.
