    We had a horrible...

    We had a horrible experience! Despite confirming our trip and pick-up location, the tour driver never showed up and the tour never happened. The phone number provided by Viator for the local provider, Italian Holidays, was not in service. Very frustrating and disappointing!

    We were not Able to join the group.. We were supposed to be picked up at hotel, but time was changed because of a mass. We were then instructed to meet at a McDonald’s. After waiting 15 minutes, we were told to walk 15 minutes around the block to a spot near the entrance. No one was there. We were told to look for the blue bus and group/ not there. We entered basilica on our own and were among 10 people in the vast beautiful church. No group in sight. Have asked for a refund, but they keep sending me pictures of the group. Do not recommend. We were 5 people in blazing hot weather who walked around for close to an hour to find our group. We also spent $40 on taxis, but transportation was supposed to be included.

    Dear tourists, We are really sad to hear your description. We changed the time because the 15th of August it is a religious holiday and in all Italian Churches there is a Mass. we sent you pictures of the group and the guide to help you find her! We recommend all tourists to reach the meeting point 10 minutes before the tour start in order to avoid such inconveniences. For any details you can also call the emergency number you find on your voucher. We suggest to reach the church with the metro, the stop is in front of the cathedral and it cost 1.50 euro.
