First, our tour guides Andre' and Victorrio were excellent. They were very knowledgeable of the area from our trip to and through Naples to our tour of Pompeii. Our bus driver, Muaro, was incredible. He maneuvered the bus around Naples traffic like a true expert. Pompeii was awesome with its history and ruins. Highly recommend this tour.

Naples and its coastline were magnificent, visiting Pompeii ruins gave us a better perspective of its history. The coach driver was brilliant. Able to manoeuvre a large bus in narrow streets of Naples. Unfortunately the restaurant where the group had lunch was a disappointment. In summary, how little can it get away with.

The Pompeii Ruins themselves are very interesting, and the tour itself pretty good (~2 hours although no time to explore on our own), but it takes forever to get to the action because of a forced stop for breakfast, forced stop for lunch, and a strange pause in a souvenir shop at the Ruins before the tour. I get it that businesses work together on stuff like this but it seemed extra tacky in this case. Basically, a 13-hour day had 2 hours of fun. The description on the web site wasn't wrong - it says as much, just figured the downtime would be a little more enjoyable than it was. If only someone made it pretty easy to get to the Ruins from Rome (~2.5 hour bus ride each way) and then folks could have the middle 6 to 8 hour to explore and eat on their own. I tried piecing together the transportation myself but it seemed like a mess of connections which is why I lazily booked this tour and ended up regretting it.

Amalfi Coast, Pompei & Vesuvius tour

It was easy to find our meeting point for the coach to the Amalfi Coast, because the guidance on Viator was very clear. The tour guide and driver were very organised and we left in time for our tour of Naples, Amalfi Coast & Pompei plus Mount Vesuvius. Absolutely stunning views along the way. The lunch of a margarita pizza and a drink were included in the package. The tour guide for Pompei was so knowledgeable. Fully recommend this tour!

The trip was great both our guide on the bus, and especially our guide on the tour itself were terrific! The guide on the bus was very knowledgeable about Rome and Roman history, because he was a Roman himself. He was quite fun and engaging, and it made the trip go by very very fast. we picked up our guide in Napoli. He was terrific. He was a professor and his students participated in the dig at Pompeii. This gave him a great advantage to provide us with not only the best sites at Pompeii, but with great detail, and we learned so much on that trip. The only downside I can think of is the restaurant where we had lunch. I felt very bad for the woman sitting at my table who thought she was getting a great Italian experience by having carbonara, and all she ate was sticky spaghetti with scrambled eggs. As a cook, I know how to make carbonara so I did tell her to please go to another restaurant while she was in Rome to try carbonara made the right way, but that is the only negative that I can say I had on the trip. The only way to truly see Pompeii is through a guided tour. I would not recommend going there on your own because one of the gentleman that was on our bus did not pay for the tour only for the ride, and he was very disappointed because he was left on his own and he got lost and he really didn’t have a very good experience so please make sure when you choose this trip that You choose the tour the lunch and also to be picked up at your hotel. We were picked up at our hotel, and it made it much easier

Our favorite part was walking the very same roads as the ancient Pompeii people. Seeing the homes. Very easy pick-up from nearby hotel. Extremely nice and knowledgeable guides. Lunch was very nice. Easy entrance into the park.

Mara was a great tour guide on the bus ride. Fabiano made the visit to the Pompeii ruins very memorable. We didn't realize our tour would be led by an archeologist and university professor. It was like a college tour experience. He was extremely knowledgeable. It was very nice to view Naples and learn about the city as well. The bus was comfortable and they provided enough breaks for using the toilet and grabbing snacks. The pizza king was good as well. There is a lot of walking and up and down stone at the Pompeii site over large bricks so if that is a challenge for someone I would not recommend this tour.

Our guides were fantastic. Our driver Francisco was a amazing driver to drive us safely through the narrow streets. The tour was wonderful, we would do it again. Fabio was so knowledgeable and explained what we were looking at in an interesting way. I would highly recommend this tour.

For a 12 hour tour, I really did hope for more. We had a 5 minute brief stop in Naples for pictures in a very basic location where another tour bus stopped for their pictures. It really seemed like we were just following the other bus around because our 30 minute bathroom/food break to naples always seemed to turn into a waiting time of 29 minutes and a minute to eat. Similarly, when it came to our lunch at pompeii, I experienced the same thing. The restaurant we ate was an event venue that was tucked away in the back of some street with bad service and broken table. Because we got there when the other bus was having their lunch, I had to wait -- literally 50 minutes-- to get my pizza. I only had 10 minutes to eat and use the bathroom after that. The food was awful and not worth the price for the tour. I now understand why there was a small group within our bus that did not partake on the lunch. IF you choose this tour, do not include the lunch. Spend your time in a restaurant that's actually better or more time in pompeii. I would highly suggest booking a private or small group/semi private tour for a visit to Pompeii or Naples. This was NOT what I expected or hoped for at all.

This day trip to Pompeii was fabulous and definitely worth the money. The team of Luigi, Michala and Sasha were fabulous. We brought my elderly mother along and Sasha the guide in Pompeii paced the tour really well for her walking ability. I will say that the tour was in Spanish and English and so maybe took longer because of that.

The tour guide that gave us information while on the bus, and was also the guide at Pompeii was excellent, (can't remember his name). He spoke well and was very knowledgeable. We stopped for lunch which was good, however the serving staff were rude. Next we stopped at a Cameo place which I thought was a waste of time. After Pompeii it was a good 2 1/2 hour drive back to Rome, so its a long day.

Seeing the Amalfi Coast was the best part of the tour for me. I loved learning the history of Pompeii and being in close proximity to Mt. Vesuvius. Out tour guide Bruno and our driver Guigino were absolutely outstanding!!!

The 5 minute stop for a photo of Vesuvius across the bay of Naples was breathtaking. The ruins of Pompeii were amazing. Walking down Roman streets with a bit of imagination brings to life ancient times. These were the highlights. Our guide was very knowledgeable through the ruins. Going through Naples I could hardly hear her and it was very difficult to pick through her thick Italian accent. It was even harder for my wife as English isn’t her first language. Lunch was ok just a pizza and a bit of salad. When you arrive at Pompeii your first visit will be a shell factory making ornaments. 20 minutes you won’t get back and in my opinion should’ve been spent in the ruins. We only seen a fraction of the ruins there was lots more to see. At the cafe at the entrance to the ruins 1 beer, 1 Coke and a packet crisps 15euro. This was off peak. Overall very expensive for what you get, but it’s a place you have to visit once in your life.
