The meeting point is in the square in front, OUTSIDE, of the Basilica of Santi Cosma and Damiano, the church is located on Via dei Fori Imperiali (half way) & is close the entrance of the Roman Forum. You will see our staff in front of the Basilica wearing a uniform with the logos of the company.

With only a few days in Rome 2 weeks ago, we decided that the Colosseum was a must-do and chose this guided tour. We were very pleased with it, largely because of our guide, Darius, who was engaging, entertaining, funny and knowledgeable. There was a Dutch family with 3 pre/early-teen boys in our group, and Darius involved the lads all the way through. He answered questions any time, kept everyone on track, made time for photo stops and gave lots of stories and facts about the ancient sites. In addition, booking online was very simple, it was easy to find the meeting point, and everything seemed well organised. It was our first time using the microphone/radio gadgets on a guided tour and they are the best! No more missing out on what the guide is saying or being left behind because you're looking the wrong way when the group moves off (which never happens, right? lol). These tours can't cover everything you could possibly see at these amazing sites, but you'd need a couple of days to explore every corner, so we thought it was a great alternative for us. We're in our early sixties and not especially fit, but we kept up fine, although we were very much ready for a spritz or two after 3.5 hours of listening, learning and walking in the heat of a late summer afternoon. Also the tour group guides all seem to know how to work around each other and make way for each other's groups, and you get through the gates more quickly than on your own. Very glad we booked this tour.

The Colosseum is amazing, but the history and stories the guide shared made this a do-not-miss. He was very engaging and really brought the ancient buildings to life. It was easy to picture the gladiators in the arena and the spectators yelling for blood. I highly recommend the tour.

Stressful experience due to miscommunication from the tour operator. They moved my booking from 9:30am to 2pm. When I explained I can’t make the time, they didn’t respond. I messaged them again on the Viator app where they said they can move the time to 10am. Then the following day, they said they had the original time available so it was reverted back to that time. All this stress could have been avoided. To make it worse, I explained the issue to Viator’s customer service and to ask what their policies were around a tour operator moving the times and they couldn’t even understand what I was saying. They told me all bookings are non refundable and amendments were not allowed and would not be honoured. Then they asked me what I wanted them to do. I was unresponsive for 2 minutes so they left the chat immediately. The tour itself was okay. The speaker had a strong accent and spoke very quickly so it was hard to understand. I wouldn’t book with Viator again. You’re better off booking via Airbnb. The experience was much more informative and personable.

Not for anyone with difficulty walking.

Enjoyed the Coliseum but the rest was boring. Reaching the meeting point was a huge challenge because of a protest march, involving hundreds of workers. Policemen with machine guns were everywhere and streets were closed off.

The guide was mumbling away with lots of details but did not outline the bigger picture, especially while visiting the Forum Romanum. Very disappointing. The Colosseum part was ok. The tour was advertised as a small group tour, but we were 23 people. Also the start of the tour was changed by 1h just two days before the date. All in all not a good experience and not worth the money.

The host was so passionate about history and had our imagination make the relics come alive. I was disappointed that the tour ended at the colosseum. I was under the impression based upon the description of the experience that the tour continued inside. Just about 10 minutes of history explained to us and then we were on our own to explore the colosseum.

This was described as a small group walking tour - there were 26 people on it. The guide didn’t have a flag and waved a rolled up sheet of paper to keep the group together. The previous day we did the Vatican tour with a different company and it was described as a small group tour - there were 10 people on it and the guide had a flag to help keep him in our eye line.
