What To Expect

Meet your guide and head to the Colosseum, taking advantage of skip-the-line access that will get you into the famous site quickly and efficiently. Put on an audio headset for easy listening and spend the next 90 minutes learning about the history of the amphitheater from your guide as you visit the first and second levels.

Then head over to the Roman Forum for the second part of your tour, enhanced with live commentary from your guide. After around 45 minutes exploring the forum, head up to Palatine Hill, the final stop on your tour. Wrap up your tour exploring the ruins and learning about how Rome was founded.

Our guide was very knowledgeable. He gave us enough time to enjoy the experience.. His knowledge of the history of what we were seeing and drawing together the reasoning of the emperors was helpful to understand why things happened.

A wonderful tour got to see and walk through so much history we had an excellent tour guide. We got to the front of the line at the Colosseum and had plenty of time exploring the Roman Forum and walk to Palentine Hill

The staff at Crown tours were very professional, polite and punctual. Tour started on time and our guide Matt was very descriptive and insightful. We have been to Rome before but decided to opt for a guided tour this time and it was money well spent. As we visited during early December it was low season and there weren’t any long queues at ticket checkpoints.

Our guide was so very knowledgeable and personable. We learned things about the Coliseum we had never heard of. She was very helpful to us even after the tour. We are so glad we booked the tour instead of just going ourselves. The staff was there on time, easy to find and very helpful, but our guide was the star. This is truly worth every penny. This was such a waste of time and money. Everything was very disorganized from the beginning. The weather didn’t help either, our reservation was for 10:30 and it did not commence until over an hour later. Our group had to wait in the pouring rain for an additional two people who chose to be late. After all the chaos everything was rushed. All the groups around us had time and very informative tour guides. I regret getting this guided tour. I was so looking forward to this tour. Very disappointed that I wasted my day and learned absolutely nothing.

The only reason I’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5 was unrelated to her - the “early access” tour which starts at 8am does not get very far into the tour before the standard public visitors flood the main attraction areas.

The tour was very long, and our tour guide had a poor grasp of the English language. She was difficult to understand and would stop And spend 15-20 minutes at multiple places pointing and trying to explain, but not in a meaningful way. Bring water, you walk a lot and don’t have an opportunity to get any water along the way.
