Fiona Wonderful and personable guide. She was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot of Roman history from information shared. We enjoyed her humor and ability to connect with the group.

Very unique, did not happen at night though so we were rescheduled for a different day and time. Tour guide Max was great and gave us lots of recommendations for Rome and Florence

The capuchin crypts were incredibly odd and have to be seen to be believed. Essentially sculpture from human bones. The catacombs were excellent and the PHD student guide was very good, she knew her subject very well and some of what we saw was astonishing (the first Christian art was profound). Really enjoyed this tour, the only downside was Fiona the Australian guide who was a little bit patronising, but you can't have it all.

Very cool tour of a unique history of Rome's early Christians and the Cappuccin Monks. First visit is to Cappuccin Monastery/church with the incredible bone displays of the 3000+ friars who have died 500 years ago. Super unique. Then off to Catacombs of Priscilla which has first Christian paintings from ~260 AD. Our 3 kids (age 9, 11, 13) also found it pretty fascinating. Being in the cool underground catacombs was also a nice break from the heat!! Fiona was a great guide

We enjoyed the VIP Rome Catacombs Night Tour with Capuchin Crypts. Our guide, Davide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the topic as well as about Roman history, art, and culture. We learned a lot about the Capuchin friars and their spiritual practices. It was very interesting to see the bone art in the crypts and it helped to have the background that Davide provided beforehand to understand and appreciate this unique practice. The tour of the Pricilla Catacombs was also very interesting and informative.

Our guide was excellent- knowledgeable, great story teller and well prepared with info and answers. Our guide at catacombs underground second stop was also incredible. Our 3 teens loved it too. We learned so much!! It wasn’t a long drawn out tour. Easy meeting point by metro stop. Groups were small-15 each. The catacombs were cooler in temp underground of course but so refreshing from the summer heat! Guide was helpful with dinner place suggestions following end of tour at 8:30.

The entire tour was extremely informative. Seeing the crypts were quite humbling. The painting of the Blessed Mother and Jesus was the highlight of the catacombs for me.

A very different take on Rome. The Caupichin Crypts were fascinating! The bone art was very unexpected. The highlight was the catacomb. The guides had so much information on it and now I can’t wait to read up more about them. Bring a light jacket because it can be a little chilly in the catacomb.

Fiona was an excellent tour guide. She was very animated and gave great insight into the tours. However it was supposed to be a small group tour. Two groups joined together in the catacomb tour and it was impossible to hear or see most of what the one tour guide was talking about. You can do the crypts on your own with an audio guide. That is what I would recommend to friends. If it had been one group of 20 it would have been manageable. Viator should not say this is a small group tour. It is not !

Fiona was a great tour guide, she was informative and we learned a lot. She had a list of her recommendations in the art museum so we could focus on the high points. We went outside the city walls for the catacombs, very cool! She recommended an area to eat authentic Roma food and it was our best dinner yet! We are a family of 4 with adult kids.

Must see! Unusual and enlightening

My family (myself, husband, and 13 yo daughter) were impressed by how interesting this tour was. Our guide Fiona gave great historical context to the Capuchin crypts and the catacombs. The crypts were stunning and strange and beautiful in their brutal power. Also, to see the first depiction of Mary and Christ from 230 AD in the catacombs was totally unexpected and special! Being able to have the tickets/access to both venues and transport to the catacombs was so useful. I highly recommend this tour!
