The three course lunch paired with three different wines was the highlight of the tour! We had the opportunity to try some foods we had never before eaten. Alessandro, the winemaker, who gave the tour, shared his knowledge of winemaking with us. It was the second day of harvesting the grapes, so from the second floor where the lunch was held, we watched the process of separating the grapes from the leaves and stems. Of course, we also bought some wine to be shipped back home. We highly recommend this tour!

Allesandro was a great host. We tasted amazing Balsamic Vinegar di Modena and learned about the production from start to finish. This was a trip highlight for out family.

Wine Tasting Review: let's review this by looking into three main indexes: 1. Wine and its food We got to taste three kinds of wine. We got to try: Juli'o a balanced wine, Rosso di Montalcino, and the rare Brunello. I personally love the Juli'o that we bought three bottles of it when we left. The Brunello was amazing but it was on the higher end of the price (50ish EUR). I am no wine connoisseur, but the tasting went super well with the food that was given. We got a full meal during our visit. One big platter of antipasti that serves also for vegetarian people. Then continued with a great pasta with ragu sauce! The pasta was definitely one of the best. Then closing with a good dessert. 5/5 experience. 2. Atmosphere The place was near Montalcino. If you don't use a car, it may be tricky to go there. The surrounding area of the vineyard was beautiful nonetheless. The winery itself was built upon an old castle, so the building was beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. We got to see lots of parts of the remaining history and roads that have great significance in history. The castle was well-maintained and the winery really was a beautiful place to visit. 5/5 spot. 3. Service We were assisted by Paolo. He is a knowledgeable guide, he knows his way around the winery and the process. As food technologists and also wine enthusiasts, we were satisfied with all the knowledge. During the course of wine tasting, we were explained sufficiently about the wine and the story behind it. He is a lovely guide, but it would be great to have him around a bit longer. He was sometimes not around, so it was challenging to ask more about the wine. Finally, everyone on the premises was kind and attentive to our needs and helped a lot in getting the wine. 4/5 service.
