Not worth it.
Michael_C, Apr 2024
Meeting other travelers. The first stop of sushi was so and so, and the second stop of wagu beef was good but they give you 4 small slices. The third dessert stop should really be replaced. Junk food snack experience was not good at all. For $150 per person, one could get much better dinner in Tokyo. Recommend to avoid this foodie night tour.
Great experience!

I liked walking through the little alleys where the restaurants were. I just wish it hadn’t been raining. Our guide did her best to navigate through the rain. We got to taste various Japanese offerings, including Waygu beef…interesting dessert options as well!
A meaningful tour

Ryan is an excellent tour guide. He speaks good English and manage the time/pace very well. He made the tour a lot of fun. The tour is well arranged in terms of variety of food.
Lackluster experience, can skip and save yourself time and money
Karen_N, Apr 2024
I’ve done many food tours around the world and this was by far the worst experience. From finding the meeting location to the tour guide (who was nice, but not engaging, informative about the city, history or the restaurants she took us to). She was unable to answer basic questions of the locations we were walking to and dine at. The restaurants were just OK and you can shorten the experience from 3.5 hours to 2 hours. There were many awkward silence in between walking to the locations and at restaurants.
Night Tour in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan

Yuki was a great tour guide. He was very personal, knew so much about the Japanese history and culture, and took us to spots that were not too touristy, which I loved it. I would this again if I’m in Japan again or recommend it to someone visiting there.
great pick

Enjoy some great local food and culture
Peter_B, Apr 2024
Ken Take was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and professional. This tours gets you away from the tourist eateries and restaurants that you might never find. Very good quality food. Ken told us many things about the history and culture of Japan. An easy pace too. Recommended
Overall just an ok experience
Kelli_B, Apr 2024
Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. However, we were hoping to experience food that was uniquely Japan, something not readily available everywhere else. We had sushi and then wagyu BBQ, which realistically we can easily get in Australia. We went to a lolly restaurant for dessert, which I guess is novel, but again, I would have expected to have some unique Japanese dessert, not packets of lollies. Overall, we enjoyed the evening, but if you want a unique food experience, this isn't the tour for you.
Introduction to Japanese Food
Jennifer_S, Apr 2024
Lisa was a terrific guide and spoke excellent English. She took us (my husband and I) to taste everything listed, but the meals were large! We tried both styles of sushi -Edo and modern- the sushi place was really cool. We tried miso, dashi, and we grilled meat at our table (which was my favorite) at the second spot. The third spot was a snack bar which was so interesting to visit as a place adults go to eat childhood treats, but by this point we were too full to eat any more. Lisa also made sure to walk us past Godzilla street ;-) .she also sent us photos from our tour afterward. Can't say enough good things about Lisa.
Must do yummy experience

Thoroughly enjoyed this foodie tour. Our group was Kazuki’s, our guide, second tour and he did great! There was so much food to taste with options for those who may not like sushi. The waygu beef was delicious. Our last stop was a place where the younger Japanese population gather for drinks and snacks. There is no way for me to explain the last stop, but it was a neat experience.
Best tour guide ever!

Our tour guide, Ken Take, was so kind and knowledgeable! He’s so funny, makes you laugh the whole time and is very patient with you when you ask questions. The food and drinks were delicious!!
The guide was very polite...
Alex_N, Mar 2024
The guide was very polite and fun. We were disappointed with our experience at the restaurants and the food. It was very basic, beginner Japanese cuisine. For a tour labeled ‘foodie’ we were expecting a specialized advanced experience. Interaction with chefs explaining their dishes. The tour listed desert which we did not get. Instead we ended at a bar. We specifically picked this tour over the bar tour for food, not alcohol beverages.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're glad to hear that you found our guide polite and fun. However, we apologize that the culinary experience did not meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding the food quality and the lack of interaction with chefs is valuable to us, and we will use it to improve our offerings. We apologize for the oversight regarding the dessert and the unexpected stop at a bar. Your comments will be taken into consideration to ensure better alignment with the tour description in the future. If there's anything else we can assist you with or if you have any further feedback, please feel free to reach out. We appreciate your input and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more satisfying experience in the future.
Highly recommend this tour

Our tour guide was amazing! The food was delicious. Very fresh sushi and Waygu! The radish soup that we tried at the bar was to die for. Thank you again!

The guide was cool. She was from Kansas, so my US girlfriend found a common ground with here. The food was nice.

We had a great time on this tour. Our guide, Fuji was very good, fun and made our experience the best. Our group was three plus Fuji, which was perfect. We got to know both Fuji and the other person and had a lot of fun.
Awesome night, amazing food, great guide

Wonderful experience
Julie_I, Feb 2024
The tour was an enjoyable experience for first time in Shinjuku, learning of the culture, history, and food in a small group setting. Our tour guide, Yudai, took the time to explain everything, answer all our questions, and provided insightful conversations.
Great food tour
