    A great day

Our guide Yoko was very nice and gave us great information about the market and Japanese culture. We had a great time and we recommend this tour.
    Excellent tour

We LOVED our Tsukiji fish market tour with Maiko in April. She spoke excellent English and was very informative about the area and culture. She was so friendly and kind. We tried several different snacks from the market and enjoyed lunch at a divey, darling little restaurant. This was a highlight of our trip!
    Unreliable & Unpleasant

My bookings were cancelled multiple times at the last minute by this unprofessional company. This left my schedule in a disarray. To make matters worse, their scrambling to find replacements left me hanging, unsure to make any other plans or not, they were unsuccessful the first time around to find a replacement . This whole ordeal was a complete waste of money. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs!
Missed tour and unable to contact tour company due to incorrect listed phone number.

My husband and I missed the tour because we were at the wrong meeting place which was our mistake but when we tried calling Magical Trips at the phone number listed on the confirmation we kept on receiving message of incorrect phone number!! We were down the street from Tsukiji Fish Market so we decided to go there and try to find the group without success. If we received the correct phone number, it could have resulted in a different outcome. Very disappointing!
New to Tokyo?? A must see adventure to Tsukiji fish market

The meet up was tricky to begin but once we located the area (next to Tsukiji Temple) it was a great time. They had a wedding ceremony that we were able to experience in what we thought was very traditional. Then on to the tour...we really enjoyed that at every chance Inok was able to take photos for us and he sent it to our group within a few hours. The food and culture was great and a must see while navigating your way. Yes, you could probably do so on your own but to get to the inside scoops of what Tsukijis is about.....this tour will get you the info to make a return trip on your own. My wife and I went back the very next day and viewed all the booths and vendors that we saw that we wanted to experience. We highly recommend this and ask for Inok...he added some personal touches that we thought was above and beyond his tour (observation tower). Aloha- G and T
    Wonderful Tour!

Our tour guide Max was excellent and went above and beyond including spending extra time with us to show us unique places in addition to the fish market and he also told us great stories. Definitely recommend this tour !
Great guide but skip this tour
    Rebecca_M, Apr 2024
Our guide Hina was fantastic - very knowledgeable and her approach was inclusive to all those in the group. Unfortunately though we can’t recommend the tour itself. This is now a food market on the site of the old fish market. At the lunchtime session for the tour it is at its peak of busyness and it’s not practical for a small group walking tour. The lunch while tasty, was in a small windowless area above one of the restaurants so unfortunately had nonie of the atmosphere of the market. While the market is worth a look - go yourself, go early and if you want the full fish market experience head to Toyosu instead.
    Amazing Fish Market Tour!

What an excellent and informative experience. Nao, our guide, brought us through a very unique Buddhist Temple and shared its history and certain Buddhist protocols with us. We then toured the Fish Market, which was a wonderful crush of people/food/shops. Then we visited a quieter fish market to see how locals shop, Finally, got a fabulous view of Tokyo from the 46th floor of the Times building. All in all, an interesting and educational (and delicious) tour. Highly recommend.
    Amazing

Our tour was amazing. She showed us around and explained in detail. Much was sooo good. My neice and I stayed after the tour to explore more as there is so much to see. Thank you!
Not really a « fish market » tour
    Nabila_A, Mar 2024
many opportunities for testing différent japenese fish specialities in the different shops or restaurants Not really a market fish where WE can see fishes and big tuna captured and cutted in front of you but more fish diches spécialities shops in streets … but Nice to see !
    Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you for sharing your feedback. It sounds like you had an exciting culinary experience exploring Japanese fish specialties in various shops and restaurants. While it may not have been the traditional market fish encounter with big tuna being cut before your eyes, discovering unique fish dishes and specialty shops along the streets must have been a delightful adventure. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!
    Great value

Every stop was great. Some of the best seafood I’ve had. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Tokyo.
A must visit when in Tokyo!

An absolutely fabulous tour of the beautiful seafood market! The food on the tour was the best of our month in Japan! The fish is so so fresh! And the crab is amazing! Moe was a great guide who was a wealth of info! Thanks for a great time! Highly recommended!
Great trip! Highly recommend with Inok
    robin_k, Feb 2024
Learning about not only the tastes of different fish but also a side store that Inok took us to, increasing our knowledge of how fish is prepared.
    Smooth experience

I couldn’t ask for more. Hina was very knowledgable and this tour made my trip to Tokyo more fulfilling. Learning details about the shops and the temple were beneficial although it was raining, it didn’t stop us from getting to know the historical market Highly recommended!
Was looking for a more informative experience

This was the first tour of the trip, and to be honest, I was a little concerned about the rest of the ones I had booked because this one was a bit of a disappointment. Our guide was very friendly and approachable, but I felt the overall structure of the tour should be changed. We received 1,000 yen upon entering the market and were shown a couple of stalls over a period of about an hour where the guide suggested we use the yen to buy skewers, mochi, and a few other small bites - for context, 1,000 yen buys you roughly 1-2 skewers and a mochi. We stopped at a total of maybe 4-5 stalls/locations and everyone in the group was given maybe 10 minutes to wander around the vicinity or wait in line/eat/drink/shop, then we would move on to the next spot. To some degree it almost felt like a self-guided market tour and we both felt that this is something we could have easily done on our own (for a much lower cost). The lunch portion was a sit-down meal, each person was given 1500 yen towards a lunch dish and we had reserved seats - I imagine on a busy day that having seating is a rarity, so this could be a big bonus. I think everyone enjoyed their lunch, but most of us went above the 1500 yen and paid the difference (there are some options available at or below 1500). I personally would have rather had more dishes from stalls throughout the market as opposed to a sit-down meal, but the donburi/sashimi bowl was very good. I would have liked the market tour to be more informative and to have a set list of a vendors the tour company has a relationship with that offer a preset samples/dishes to the group and gives each of those on the tour exposure to local/specialty foods. I can't speak for everyone, but I was really looking for this tour to better inform me of local cuisine and traditions, and provide pointers on navigating markets and street food in Japan. We later in the trip went on a fish market tour in Osaka that was much more aligned with what we had anticipated from this tour and really enjoyed the experience.
    Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you your feedback this time. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced during your tour. On your tour day, there were total of 8 guests and it seemed to be difficult for our guide to control all of the guests. Although we have received good reviews from other guests on the same day, we understand your impression wasn't so good comparing to others. But your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will certainly take it into consideration to improve the structure and content of our tours for future guests. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to better serve you in the future.
    Good experience

We enjoyed our tour with Taka and our group. Market is very crowded and busy so it helped to have a guide. You could do it on your own but we still enjoyed the experience
    Highly recommended and fun.

We saw places in the nooks and crannies of the "Outer Market" we never would have found just wandering around randomly. Take this tour!
