A Fabulous Food Tour!
Mark_N, Apr 2024
This cultural walking tour took us to many interesting places that show the vibrant Tokyo life, and allowed us to try many great foods. And best of all our tour guide, Naoko, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.
Not all that

As food tours go this was quite lack lustre. Our guide was very nice and spoke English well but not a foodie. We didn't learn much and the food stops were tired and sub standard...eg an omelette shop with no eggs.
Great tour, more than we would have known to do on our own!
Deann_S, Apr 2024
Excellent tour. We sampled quite a variety of foods and visited many of the shops. Was great to have had a couple of points in the tour where we sat down to eat and rest a bit. Shrines and temples were beautiful, glad we got a peek at those.
A perfect tour!

What an excellent tour (and so far i had 5 tours before this one). I just loved it. A mix of cultural experience and japanese food experience, but also some historical data and practical tips for what to do outside this tour. Our guide, Meiko, was absolut divine. Short, but fast, but also had a keen eye for our confort and our needs. I found no words to thank her, but for sure I want to come back several times in Japan. Arigato gozaimasu Meiko.
Delicious and fascinating window to Japanese culture

I loved this tour. Our guide, Hiro, was charming and kind and his enthusiasm for Japanese food and culture was infectious. We aso much great food in the market stalls, and whenever we wanted to try something that wasn't on the tour, Hiro made it happen. The lunch was a great way to transition to the Asakusa part of the tour, which was much more about the temple and shrine experiences. Hiro's knowledge and passion made this tour a true highlight of the trip, and also gave me context to better enjoy my solo adventures around the city.
Perfect if you get curious about everything when you travel

Tsukiji market is a busy, bustling market place which you could probably explore pretty successfully on your own. That said, it was nice to have our guide, Tak, and the company of other travelers. We were taken from vendor to vendor and got the VIP treatment when it came to tasting samples and learning about what they all were. Hot, fresh fishcakes, omelette, sake, and sashimi rice bowls were all on the menu, and then there were other unexpected treats thrown into the mix. We got to watch a professional sushi chef filleting a fish in seconds, and we constructed our own rice bowls which made it feel really interactive. The roast beef taster that we got thanks to a coupon from our guide, and the extra spontaneous purchases of three cuts of tuna sashimi, and melon buns definitely sweetened the deal. We travelled to Asakusa across the city via metro, leaving the other tour members behind in Tsukiji, and had Tak all to ourselves. It was cool hearing his anecdotes about life, language, religion and business in Tokyo and Japan. The Asakusa part of the tour included being introduced to little side streets away from the main crush of the shrine, and also being taken up to the viewing platform in the visitors information center. At the end of the tour, we ventured off just across the bridge to the nearby Asahi Skyroom bar to look out over the city and up at the Skytree (both very close by). It was a great way to see more of Tokyo, ask questions, and learn about the city, food and culture. I would recommend it.
Don't miss It

Sayo was a great guide and we had a wonderful small group. Loved the knowledge and tour in general. Food was great. Highly recommended.
Excellent tour of the market!

Excellent tour! Small group so we were able to experience everything close up. Incredible guide, Asaka was the best! Perfect amount of time to learn about and make our way through the market. Tried some great food and explored areas we wouldn’t have known about. A lot of food for the tour including lunch so come hungry! Highly recommend.
A great option for seeing the outer market and asakusa

This was a great exposure to the incredible food and ingredients that are a mainstay of Japanese culture. Lunch was delicious. There was time for a little shopping, and Yuriko was an excellent guide!
Excellent Food Tour
Ollie, May 2023
This was an excellent food tour. Sato was enthusiastic and interesting and his English was very good. We tried around 15 different items and three different restaurants. Food included pork cutlet, wagyu beef (like butter), shashimi, and gyoza. They were also very generous with the drinks. Tried there kinds of sake and two local mixed drinks. Highly recommend this tour
Great day in Shibuya!

Our guide, Yuko, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She took us on an amazing tour and shared wonderful food and experiences. I would highly recommend this tour.
Local style tour to a touristy place.
Griffin_C, Apr 2023
Nice tour of fish market. Toma was an excellent guide and took us to some really cool sports and steered us away from the really touristy shops. We got to try a lot of different things which I loved. We had all been to Asakusa so Toma asked if we wanted to do something else which we all said yes, it was great of her to be flexible like that and provide all of us with the best experience possible. I would recommend this tour. The sushi lunch was very good but I probably would’ve preferred to continue to try different things and just fill up on things in the fish market or in Asakusa.
Must Try to have BEST experience of Tsukiji and Asakusa!

ARIGATO GOZAIMASU!!!!!!! Tak!! Tak!!! Tak is truly the BEST of the BEST!!! Where do we begin? The first second we met him, his energy was contagious. It was a cold day and on top of that, it was 8:30 am but there was nothing that would have stopped Tak's energy level! Soon enough, we found ourselves falling into Tak's magic- his knowledge of the Tsukiji-Honganji temple to the very last recommendation of the Shiba-Inu cafe was impressive. He explained to us about the history in a timeline that we could easily understand. We threw numerous questions for about 6 hours straight, and he had an answer to every single one. Not only that, he made sure we could hear him in crowded areas and never made us feel embarrassed for asking any kind of questions (culture, food, customs, religion, shopping, entertainment etc.) He accommodated to our family of 4, including 2 children (age 13 and 11). Both kids were thoroughly entertained and well-fed! My son who was not a fan of the tamagoyaki got a chicken yakitori instead. This would be just one example of Tak making the tour personal. He soon realized that each of us had our interests, and he made sure to find stores for us- strawberries, toro, candy fruits, sweet potato cake, stationary, animal themed cafe, kitchen utensils, knives, goldfish catching, and the list can go on! 6 hours went by too quickly and probably the most efficient way to maximize Tsukiji and Asakusa! Luckily, we had an empty large backpack with us because we returned back with a full load and carrying bags. BEST BEST BEST TOUR EVER ALL BECAUSE OF TAK!!! If you ever do this tour, I highly recommend TAK!!! TAK is your best option if you want someone who will personalize the tour to fit all your needs and interests, knowledgeable, and kid friendly. We will be talking about you frequently, Tak!!

Our guide Chihiro was terrific. Her English was excellent and she was extremely knowledgeable about not only the area and the markets but Tokyo as well. There were only four of us on this tour which was a perfect number as it allowed us to move through the areas with ease. Chihiro also offered us advice about other activities in Tokyo and was kind enough to email me with directions for the metro to other areas we wished to see.

I had the most fantastic time with Mr. Yukio. He was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, hardworking. We made a good 2 hours at different parts of the Tsukiji market. I tried to keep myself a bit hungry which was hard given so much you can to try there. Yukio made sure you take the best of the many varieties offered. We also had sake tasting before making it Asakusa market which is mostly for buying souvenirs. Thank you

This tour was very interesting but not what we were expecting. Our guide Noriko was very good and really informative. We had plenty of ingredient tasting opportunities, a sushi lunch and a Japanese tea with desserts. However, there was no cuisine tasting as would be more typical.

Yukio was a great guide, full of information about what we were seeing and Japanese culture. So much food, we were barely hungry for our excellent lunch. I would take any tour with him. Nice small group.
