Great guide, great trip

It was a terrific trip. Murano and the glass making didn’t disappoint but Burano was an unexpected pleasure…Such a beautiful town. The best part of the experience though was our guide, Georgia. She was a perfect blend of being fun and knowledgeable. My wife, sister and I all had a great time.

We love Venice but planned to take a break from the crowds to explore the nearby islands. If you’ve researched at all you’ll have read about Murano and Burano to some extent and so did we, so we decided to take a private tour and we have zero regrets..! Nico, our tour guide, was amazing. A native Venetian, you could tell he loves his home and is very well versed in its history. He took us off the beaten path every so often and we had a richer experience for it. I can tell you that going to these islands on your own wouldn’t be the same. The tour is worth every penny and then some. Thank you Nico for an excellent experience! 🙂

Luca is engaging, passionate and fun, and brings a wealth of knowledge to create a spectacular tour! He has an amazing knowledge of the history and legacy of the island of Murano thanks to his family’s connection to the skilled glassware artisans and their traditions. The behind the scenes tour of the glass factory, and glassblowing was fascinating! The island of Burano was so charming ~ I adored the colorful architecture! Luca shared his love for the island and treated us to a traditional cookie! We loved our private boat ride to Murano and Burano with just Luca, the driver and us. It was a magical way to transport us to these islands! We felt like old friends by the time we had to say goodbye, and I loved that we parted with a hug . . . until next time! Highly, highly recommend this tour!

We had an excellent day with Natasha, our guide. We stopped in Burano first and spent time walking through the colorful streets and then stopped in one of the lace stores. We also received some Venetian cookies which were absolutely delicious. Then we went to Murano and watched a glass making demonstration. Natasha was so passionate about Venice and its history and we learned a lot during our time with her! Paying the extra for a private tour was worth it for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Matteo who took us to Burano, Murano and Mazzorbo by private water taxi. He was engaging, knowledgable and flexible. I have taken this tour before but this is the first time I was taken to Mazzorbo and I really enjoyed it. Burano and Murano are must sees when you go to Venice and doing it privately is so much more enjoyable then taking a group tour. I would highly recommend this tour and this guide.

Luca’s private tour exceeded all of our expectations! His knowledge of Murano (coming from a family of Murano artists) and Burano (because he grew up with a nephew of the oldest lace-maker) is unparalleled. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he clearly loves sharing his beloved Venice with visitors. I can say with 100% certainty that I will never book another tour guide or tour agency in Venice except Luca (or his team) and ShoMe Venice! We loved the private water taxis to Murano, Burano, and back to the city! Sure you can take a water bus for way less, but we couldn’t have seen as much had we relied on the water bus, as it’s slow and crowded. The behind the scenes glassmaking demonstration on Murano was fascinating, as was our private tour of the studio. Watching the lace-making in Burano took me back in time and fascinated me. But hearing Luca’s passion and fascinating information is what made the trip the best! I’d give more than five stars if possible!

This was an amazing tour with Luca! We had a great time in both islands especially seeing the glass blowing in person. Luca was very friendly, knowledgeable and his passion for Venice really came across through his enthusiasm and storytelling. It was also nice having a private boat and we enjoyed the boat ride to and from the islands. We would definitely recommend this tour and would use him again when we come back to Venice!

Best Tour Guide Ever!

Matteo arrived promptly at our hotel and walked us to our private water taxi for our Murano/Burano tour. At Murano, we were taken to the back of the glass-blowing area, where we had a private demonstration by one of the artists. We were also able to get a close-up view of the furnaces. After the demonstration, we walked through the glass shop, where we saw amazing glass works. Then we boarded our water taxi for the trip to Burano. Matteo was very familiar with the island. We did a walking tour, and Matteo gave us an excellent appreciation of life on the island. We saw lace-making in one of the lace shops, and he purchased a bag of local cookies for us. Matteo was endearing, personable, and knowledgeable and was very enthusiastic about sharing information about Venice. He gave us restaurant recommendations and walked us to an excellent trattoria for lunch. We really enjoyed our time with Matteo. By the end of the tour, we felt like family! We very highly recommend Matteo for any tour and would want him to be our tour guide if and when we return. He was one of the best tour guides we have ever had in our travels!
