What To Expect

Mother and daughter, chef and sommelier, welcome you to their Venetian house.

Immerse yourself in the enchanted atmosphere of Giudecca Island, one of the few places still unknown in Venice, just 8 minutes by waterbus from St. Mark’s Square.

You will be welcomed with a glass of prosecco and Angela, the sommelier, will explain everything about this wine so unique.

Thanks to Chef Rosa’s skills, you will learn how to cook traditional dishes of Italian cuisine with a few and simple ingredients. We will prepare ravioli, gnocchi and fresh pasta, cooked with three different sauces, made by you for you.

In paring, wines from the Veneto region. You will learn about the autoctone grapes, the characteristics of these wines and the classic smells of stone fruit and flowers of Soave wine or the delicious cherry and licorice of Valpolicella wine.

Welcomed as in your family, you will conclude the meal with a very tasty tiramisu and the classic amaro. Traditional italian end-of-meal liquor prepared with herbs and spices that help digestion.

We were met by the chef (Lorenzo) at the water taxi station and walked with him to his (nearby) home. Upon arrival we were greeted by another group of visitors that were in the process of making the evening meal (they had signed up for the chef's cooking class). The food was great and it made it especially memorable sharing the evening with Lorenzo and his other visitors.

Covid Scam
Richie_J, Jul 2022
I feel like I got scammed. We received a email stating that the host got Covid-19 and will not be able to host, but still charged us with no notice. I reached out to the company but no one answered.
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Scam ? Are you serious ? the host has covid and got positive 2 days before the dinner. We immediately sent you an email asking to cancel and we already refunded you . Your review is really NON SENSE . Thanks for your grim effort to downgrade us.
Potential Disaster Turned Great!
Patticipant, Sep 2021
The chef, Lorenzo, was wonderful and an interesting and fabulous human being. We also enjoyed our conversations with him and the other guest. We had a rocky start in finding our host and delayed the meal almost two hours. If we had had better directions including a physical address we could have fixed that. Also we might have avoided any problems if we had been asked where we were coming from. This was not Lorenzo’s fault and he could not have been more gracious and kind!

Amazing Meal!
Rosanne_C, Jul 2019
If you're looking for an authentic Italian meal, Lorenzo is your man! He met us at the specified location on the confirmation and walked us over to his home. Upon arrival, he had appetizers and wine ready to be served. We chatted the entire time and ate so much amazing food. He creates all sorts of variations to suit each of his guests. Come to find out, he makes something different every day and even teaches cooking classes. This is a MUST for any foodie lover! Thank you again Lorenzo!

Wonderful hosts Santita and Georgia spoke almost no English yet we still managed lively conversation. The food was delicious and plentiful. One of our best dining experiences in Venice.

We had to meet our guide at a church. We showed up early and it started to pour down rain. That added to the experience. We arrived at the Palace and we were greeted by the owners. The table setting was very nice. Everything was so old and so beautiful. The host and hostess were very congenial. The food was delicious. All cooked in her very small kitchen.

This was a good experience but had difficulty in sorting out times and then they were late meeting us .Then when we got to the palace although we had said we spoke little Italian the hosts spoke no English so things were a little difficult. Also we were with another family of German people who had booked it for a birthday treat so we did rather feel we had intruded on their occasion. But for all that the hosts were very welcoming and laid on a wonderful traditional meal which was super and extremely tasty.

Chef Santina and her husband Georgio were very hospitable. Chef Santina cooked a lot of yummy Venetian dishes for us, baked dessert, and also served us white wine and limoncello. The only problem was, there was no interpreter! So you can imagine how frustrating it was for all of us!

Organisation and communication from the company of this trip was excellent, however, the weather was not : Snow blizzard suddenly came and my sister and I were stuck as to how we were to meet our host's husband. Amazingly, through the thick snow and slippery conditions we were met and taken to the gorgeous palace. Each dish and drink was divine, our hosts were most hospitable, welcoming and kind. We cannot thank our hosts enough for such a memorable dinner and wonderful conversation. My sister suffered a nosebleed from the long flight and our host without any hesitation went and promptly provided assistance. Even after our dinner our host walked us back using the shortest and safest way back to our hotel due to the icy conditions. I cannot stress enough that you would be missing out if you did not experience this wonderful event. We would easily rate this 10 stars.

This was the best, most unique dinner of our stay in Venice. Our host couple were fantastic - very warm and friendly. The meal was AMAZING, but the highlight was dining with them in their fantastic private home on a canal. I would definitely do this again.
Expérience horrible
Jessica_D, Dec 2021

Hello Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that the experience was not as expected. Please next time if you come with 4 people, book for 4 people , not 3. You supposed to be with an infant of 12 years old.
