Worth the money

A great experience and you get a real behind the scenes look at proscuitto production. Nice bus comfortable bus, not too much bus travel which was great. Our guide knew food history, spoke quite quickly and her English wasn't the best so was often difficult to understand.

An interesting morning, with a well prepared guide

We did the cheese and ham tour with Marika. We are a family with two teenage boys. Marika was a wonderful guide, full of fun stories, and interesting details. The combination is perfect because you really get a good inside into the culinary history of this part of Italy. They pick you up and take you back to where you leave your car sharp on time, and we had the chance to visit Parma afterwards. I would absolutely recommend this tour! Thank you, Marika.

Great food tour

A great way to learn about the production of Parmigiano Reggiano and Parma ham through visits to family-run businesses. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about food production in tne region. It was a very convenient way to see some out of the way sights.

It’s an amazing trip! We went to see the factories which produce parmiggiano reggiano and Parma prosciutto. The guide is knowledgeable, professional, nice and kind. We got the chance to see how all of those amazing products being made, we learned all the processes, all of the histories, and tasting test afterwards. Definitely recommended!

Great 'behind the scenes' look at the finest in Italian food production...

Excellent look behind the scenes at some of the finest Italian food products- the Balsamic Vinegar portion was especially enlightening! My only minor criticism - we were at the prosciutto factory on a Friday at noon - and they had closed down their production process early for the weekend- not our tour operator's fault - but maybe don't book this tour on a Friday if possible... Our tour guide was fantastic!

I'm so sorry about the Parma ham production but unfortunately, you did the tour on a day in which the prosciuttificio had this type of organization, but normally they work all day. This trip was booked last min I was so thankful I was able to get a reservation, 100% worth it wish I had enough time to the full day with lunch and balsamic vinegar tasting . The factories , sites and tour guide were amazing. Great experience and food tasting

A little disappointing, but no regrets

I’m glad I went, but wouldn’t again. The crowd was much too large for many of the areas we toured, and frankly, the stench at both the parm and prosciutto factories was almost too much to bear. The tour guide, however, was awesome and very knowledgeable.

Hi, thanks for your review. I agree with you that there could be some confusion inside the factories as we are visiting them while there's happening actual production process. This allows our customers to receive first-hand experience, yet we have to respect the requirements of the companies that host us. The smell you are talking about is also present, which also makes it a part of the experience as these are the scents of the Parmigiano Reggiano and the Parma ham in production. I'm happy that you appreciated our guide which has the task of making you participate in the real life of companies.

Our guide and driver (Giacomo and Massimo) were amazing. Friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. Enjoyed every stop and learned so much about the processes behind the delicious food and traditions of Parma. The tastings were delicious and the lunch was more than I expected. Highly recommend.
