What To Expect

Your private tour starts with morning pickup at your Boston hotel, followed by a 1.5-hour drive south to Rhode Island, the smallest state in the United States.

Your private driver chauffeurs your group in your choice of vehicle, from standard sedan to luxury Rolls Royce Ghost. The Preservation Society of Newport County features eleven historic properties, with architecture and furnishings that span from the Colonial era to the Gilded Age.

You can purchase tickets to tour the interior of any of the mansions. The Breakers and Marble House are two of the grandest mansions — both were once summer 'cottages' for the Vanderbilt family. Other fine homes include The Elms, Rosecliff, Chateau-sur-Mer, Chepstow, and Kingscote. Your are free to walk around the gardens of the mansions and to stroll along the Cliff Walk — a walking path that skirts between the mansions and the Atlantic Ocean.

Newport offers a variety of excellent options for both casual and fine dining, and shopping. At the end of your visit, your driver returns you to your Boston hotel.

Great Day! We were able to see Marble, Breakers, Rosecliff and Elm houses as well as the green topiaries. We had bought memberships to the Newport Preservation Society and downloaded the audio tours in advance.
