We absolutely loved this tour! Before the tour, we were emailed helpful info about where to find them just outside the port. On our tour day, Tino (our guide) and Andres (our driver) were incredible! They were friendly, helpful, and provided exceptional service the entire day. They even stopped to get us some local honey pineapple to try and it was the best pineapple we've ever had! At Chacchoben, they had a personal guide ready and waiting for us, Juan Corona. He was amazing, too! He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He had pictures and a pointer to help us see the finer details and examples of what the temples looked like so many years ago. He was also a great photographer and helped us get the best pictures! Overall, we had an amazing time on this tour and highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.

This was an amazing experience, Moses drove us and Alma was our guide. They both were awesome and even got us cold water when it was hot. It was fun to learn about the Mayan people and I was impressed with the ruins.

Highly recommend Chak Ek tours our cruise ship was delayed a day to a medical emergency. They responded quickly when we advised we would be a day late, rescheduled our tour which was a challenge as there were 4 ships in port, their tour team was awesome!
Eddie the driver and Juan Corona were a great team. We arrived early so we had time to sit down and talk before the tour with Juan who is very passionate and knowledgeable of the Maya culture.
The drive is about 40 minutes and Juan educated us on the history of the Yucatan and how it became 3 states, Maya numbering, calendar, local vegetation, the differing species that inhabit Chacchoben and history of the Ruins at Chacchoben.
We had about hour and a half to explore the different ruins and Juan explained the hierarchy of the differing Maya's that lived in this village which was quite fascinating.
You are not able climb to the top but are able to climb some of the pyramids part way up.
Juan provided cold water and adult drinks as it was a bit warm as expected.
Overall Juan was one of the nicest and best tour guides we have experienced in our travels, he genuinely cares about the Maya's and tries to educate and preserve the culture.

Tito & Julio were great! But the real star of the show was Carlos! I want everyone to meet this group! They were excellent kind and friendly! Even when I couldn’t walk up the ruins I still had a ball! Educational timepieces were explained fully and I’m soooo happy with this experience!

I booked this excursion for a cruise and I'm so glad I did. We had no trouble finding the check-in area and were warmly greeted and offered beverages. No others had signed up for the ruins so we ended up on a private tour! Our driver Tino was so friendly and also had a teenage daughter so he totally understood how to humor our 14-year-old daughter. During the ride, he gave us a lot of information on the region and told us what to expect at the ruins. Juan Corona was our guide for the ruins and he was excellent. He managed to show us everything and did a great job avoiding the crowds. He was great with my daughter and even showed us some Mayan math. He also went above and beyond to take sooo many great photos for us. When we finished, he brought us to Tino who was waiting with delicious mango and pineapple in cups. This was the absolute best way to end our visit. We returned with plenty of time to explore the port. Top notch experience and I'm a very picky New Yorker.

The ruins are evidence of the great Mayan civilization. The drive is kind of monotonous, but our guide Carlos made up for everything. He was the best; very helpful and gave clear examples with pictures he had in his backpack. The ruins speak for themselves. We even saw monkeys. But Carlos, as our guide, and Julio, as the driver, made the day complete.

Our guide Saul, being born and raised in Chacchoben, was able to give us a glimpse into what life was like growing up in the area. His knowledge of the ruins and his personal experience exploring them as a student made our tour come to life. Even the drive to and from the ruins was a great experience as he explained the history of his hometown and even showed us where to get a traditional Mayan meal for lunch. Saul made our tour exceptionally great!

We had a fabulous experience on this excursion, all who participated said it was the highlight of our Western Caribbean cruise. Another group was supposed to join my party of five and we waited for them but they didn't show. So we had a private tour, which was great. Our guide Selena was part Mayan, and we had a much more authentic experience because of her. She was very generous in taking many pictures of us, and we had the honey pineapple tasting, salsa tasting that others described, plus a trip to Mahahual beach. Plus, we learned about Mayan food and the Mayan culture. We had a MUCH more authentic and personal experience than those that purchased excursions through the cruiseline. Plus, we were offered water, soda and beer, plus snacks. Highly recommended!
