What To Expect

Meet your guide and climb aboard a comfortable coach near the Ponte Vecchio in the morning. Relax and enjoy the ride as you leave the city behind and pass through the rolling hills and olive groves of the Tuscan countryside.

The first stop is the Fattoria Montecchio or Castello Sonnino winery, both offer a great introduction to the heritage and varietals of the Chianti region. Learn about the olive farm and vineyards, and taste three different wines along with silky olive oil. Continue on to Casa Sola or Fattoria Poggio Capponi for a tour of the historic cellars and a lesson in the traditional barrel-aging process, followed by a tasting of another three wines including Chianti Classico and other regional reds.

Having worked up an appetite, get a lesson in the art of food and wine pairing at the next stop, Casa Emma or Podere Dell'Anselmo. Savor a typical Tuscan meal featuring antipasti such as pecorino cheese, prosciutto, salami and bruschetta, along with delicious homemade pasta and cantuccini almond biscotti for dessert. During the meal, sip a selection of estate wines including Super Tuscans paired to bring out each course’s flavors.

After a delightful morning in the countryside, the 5-hour tour concludes back at the original departure point in Florence.

Superb wine tour, great vineyards and great company. I would thoroughly recommend this and it’s a great way to vary your trip to Florence.
    Tuscan Chianti Wonders!

Ben was our tour guide. He was amazing, well spoken, and very knowledgeable. The wineries you visit each have their own personality. BEAUTIFUL landscapes, worth every penny. Do this tour!
    This was a trip highlight.

Really,a terrific tour. But, we were not all able to enjoy it. We booked through Viator in August, two months ahead of our visit. Three of us were to be on the tour. A few days before we headed to Italy, we got word that one of us was dropped because the tour overbooked. Viator and Tuscany in a Bottle both pointed fingers at each other. Fearing we wouldn't find another tour, we kept the two spots. Really, we enjoyed it. But so disappointed Viator -- who we booked through -- didn't come through for us. So, be aware that even if you book two months in advance, you may get dropped at the last minute. I'll certainly think twice about using Viator again.
    AWFUL TOUR

The tour visited only three wineries and probably the worst three there are. If you are a wine drinker you would agree, if not then it could be good for you.The tour should have been half a day and it was not. Wines were of poor tastes and very low quality.the bus was very uncomfortable and the air conditioning was unexisting. If you are a demanding customer do not take this tour!
    Exceeded my high expectations

What a great way to spend the day! I did not want to rent a car and drive to Chianti myself, so I thought I'd book a tour. There were so many to choose from, that I finally just had to pick one. I definitely picked the right one! Mattia (no idea how to spell his name) was an amazing guide. He was a winemaker for twenty years, and has a a passion for wine that is contagious. Aside from his technical knowledge of growing grapes and making wine, he is all about the emotion around the wine. The three wineries we visited each had their own charm. The first tour was led by Mattia, and it was really interesting. He taught us how to taste and experience the wine. At the second winery, the owner led us on the tour. It was great, but I missed a lot because it was so picturesque, I was taking lots of pictures instead of paying close attention :) . At the third winery, we again learned about their process, and were there at a great time, as they were bringing in a load of grapes and we got to see them unload them. The wines were abundant and delicious, the owner was incredibly enthusiastic and ,and the lunch was so delicious...and there was lots of it. We were a group of about 20, which was a great size. The countryside we visited was so beautiful. But what made the tour really great was our tour guide. I could not be happier with my experience, and highly recommend it. I would not plan something directly after the tour. We got back later than scheduled, because we were having such a great time at the third winery, and then hit some traffic coming back into Florence. But you will be so full of wine and delicious food, you'll be ready to chill anyway :)

This tour was all that was promised and much more. Our guide was very informative as well as personable. The three wineries were wonderful selections for a tour. Getting to meet and tour Fabrezio’s vineyards and have Ben as our guide for the day will be lasting memories for our family.
    Awesome trip

Ilaria was our guide and she did a great job! Went to 3 wineries and had at least 11 tastings (very big tastings). Group size was about 20 which was perfect. The lunch was a 3 course meal that was very delicious. Highly recommend!

This tour was more than amazing! The wineries we visited were phenomenal and our tour guide was great. Very knowledgeable and showed us a great time! The last winery where we were supposed to have a "light lunch" was a feast! Three courses and the wine kept coming! I would recommend this to everyone, it was a highlight of our trip.
Wonderful tour of vineyards with a supberb host/guide.

This wine tour was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. It took us out of the city of Florence, which was extremely busy with tourists, into the beautiful countryside (in a clean and comfortable van) to see three scenic vineyards. The first was operating out of a castle. The grounds were breathtaking, and we learned about how to sample wines etc. The second stop was a gorgeous country estate winery, where the owner took the time to lead us through a sampling of different wines made on property. He was gracious and knowledgeable. Then we made our last stop at a very rural country vineyard that uses organic methods of growing and wine making. The host here was animated and fun. He shared stories of wine making from his family's history and took us on a tour of his operation and vineyard. We were even giving the chance to pick a grape right off the vine and eat it! Then he hosted a family style luncheon where the food was only surpassed by the wine. Both were plentiful! We honestly felt more like a guest in his home than a customer on a wine tour. We all sat together and got to know the others on the tour, which was a really nice way to end the day. BUT the best part by far was our guide. He knew everything there was to know about the region we were visiting, the vineyards, the wines, and the owners. He was the perfect mix of information, personality, and laid back demeanor. We really enjoyed our time with him leading the tour.
    Perfect Day In Tuscany

This was our first time in Tuscany so we wanted to see a good variety of wineries. This was the perfect tour for us. We got to see 3 gorgeous wineries with amazing views. One of which was a Gucci place! We didn't even know it was on the list. Our tour guide was amazing. Very knowledgable and funny. :) We ended the day with a perfect family style home-cooked meal at our last spot. We couldn't have asked for a better first time in Tuscany!
    A must do!

This tour was great. We visited 3 wineries all of which gave great tours and generous tastings. Two of the 3 also included delicious food. The host, Paolo, was knowledgeable and fun. A must do if travelling in the Florence area.
Relaxing tour with plenty of wine

The winery tours were amazing. The guide and wine was phenomenal. The views of the country side was like nothing I have ever seen. It was a small tour with a comfortable bus which made it very enjoyable. The final winery served us a delicious dinner. Worth the money!!

Caterina with Grape tours was our guide for this very amazing wine tour. We visited three vineyards and had a wonderful lunch at the last one. We learned so much about the Chianti Classico region and the wonderful wines and olive oils produced there. We can't wait for our wine purchase to arrive from Casa Sola. Thank you, Caterina and Grape wine tours for such a memorable day.
