What To Expect

Your tour will begin in central Florence near Piazza della Repubblica, where your driver-tour escort will join you. Hop aboard your luxury minivan and journey toward the hilltop towns of Tuscany. Soak up the scenery of the countryside while your driver-tour escort provides commentary about the area’s history and wine production.

Your first stop will be Montepulciano, home of the beloved Rosso di Montepulciano wine and the vino di nobile. Admire the town’s Renaissance architecture and stop for a visit at San Biagio church.

Then you will be driven to a gorgeous rustic Organic Cheese Farm, just outside Pienza and overlooking the Valley and Pienza itself. Here during a tour of the farm and the dairy you’ll learn how the Pecorino cheese is made and aged and you’ll have the opportunity to taste it accompanied by a glass of wine.

Your driver-tour escort will then lead you to the Renaissance hilltown Pienza, which affords incredible views over the Orcia Valley. Pienza is also well-known for the cheese produced here and called Pecorino from  Pienza, that you may taste in one of the many small and charming shops around the town selling this famous local cheese.

You will be given free time to wander around and here you will also have many lunch opportunities (lunch not included). Next, we will visit a selected winery in Montalcino wine area, home to the famous Brunello di Montalcino wine. Enjoy a tour of the winery followed by a wine tasting of three different types of Brunello. After a rewarding Day in Val D’Orcia, we’ll make our way back to Florence where we will arrive at about 6 pm.

Yaris, our guide, was superb. Friendly, fun, knowledgeable and helpful. Views of Tuscany breathtaking. Towns views were Pienza and Monticello which were picture postcard pretty
Wonderful Experience!

This was an excellent tour of the southern Tuscany region. Montepulciano, Pienza, and Montalcino. The winery lunch and conversation was the best I’ve ever had.

What an incredible and very worthwhile tour of Tuscany. Our guide, Giacomo, was so knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area . He spoke about the history of the surrounding villages and of the wine in the regions. One highlight was when we visited a 1,000 year old winery in Montepulchiano, and our guide was greeted joyfully by the winemaker, Adamo, the winemaker, who then gave us a tour of the wine cellar. There were only four of us in our small group, which was really wonderful - as we were meeting up in the square, we saw several other much larger groups of 20 meeting for their wine tours. The Brunello di Montalcino wines we tasted were so excellent, and our lunch was delicious! We are so happy that we treated ourselves to this amazing day!

This tour was great! We drove about an hour and a half each way and stopped in the 2 wine towns, as well as Pienza which was between them not on the itinerary, but very cute town!. The wineries were very interesting and the tastings were generous. The second winery was a biodynamic farm and they served us lunch. The wine was really good. We also got free time for about 20 mins in each town to stroll about and see the sights. We even got to go inside an old castle. We also stopped on the side of the road for some great Tuscan countryside photos. Our guide was full of information and was really helpful. No negatives on our experience.

Great Time, great Guide, but I was not really impressed by the wineries selected. I've on other tours in the area and this was not my favorite. The wine tasting was saved by our guide by having us sample wines and markets near by!

A very enjoyable tour into the beautiful Tuscany hillsides. Our guide Jacamo was a sweetheart. The two hill towns were nice to visit although there was only one true vineyard where we looked at growing grapes, asked questions, and had lunch. It was a nice change of pace if you were staying in Florence for more than three days. They ran the tour with only four people in our SUV so very relaxing.

Excellent tour. Guide did exceptional job. Meeting the vintners was a real treat. The smaller the group, the better. We had four people and it was a perfect size for the experience. Give this tour a full five stars

Although this Tuscany wine tour was more expensive than others and had only two reviews, we took a chance and booked it because it concentrated on Montepulciano and Montalcino instead of trying to cram them in with a tour of Chianti. We took a 3.30 Euro bus to Greve on another day. It was the right choice. Giaccomo, our driver, gave us a thorough education on Tuscan wines and the region in excellent English. We had generous tastings at the Contucci winery in Montepulciano and with the delicious but light lunch at the Piombaia winery near Montalcino. There was enough time to explore the two towns, and we felt that it had been a perfect day.

Giacomo was a gem He was fun and informative and seemed like he really cared for what he was doing. He was very knowable and personable. He is definitely an asset to your company. We wish we were able to have him on the other tours we took

Saw 2 beautiful Montepulciano and Montalcino but we were disappointed with the 3-course meal because it wasnt really a meal. It was just bruschetta with ham, cheese with 3 kinds of wine to taste. For something that was so expensive, we expected more. We had no tour guide; just a driver.
