What To Expect

Your evening excursion will begins in central Florence. Join your guide aboard a comfortable coach and start your journey through the olive groves and green hills of the Tuscan countryside.

Arrive in Siena and enjoy time to explore independently, checking out the central Piazza del Campo or the Duomo, a stunning Gothic cathedral with interior frescoes and alternating stripes of white and black marble.

After watching the sunset, hop back in your coach and head to the region of Chianti, made famous by its ruby-red wine. There, visit one of the area’s prominent wine estates, set amidst a Tuscan farm. Take a guided tour of the cellars and learn about the production and aging process that gives the Chianti blends a world-class flavor.

Then settle into a table in the main farmhouse or, weather permitting, outdoors for a 4-course meal (sample menu can be found below). Pair your dinner with up to four glasses of the estate’s wine, learning about the characteristics of each from your guide as you sip.

After your evening of wining, dining, and sightseeing concludes, you are returned to central Florence in your coach.

The whole tour and programme of this event were great! The tour guide was patient, knowledgeable and very polite. She took us through some of the most exciting parts of Siena and provided us with information and fascinating historical knowledge which you can't really get just by walking around the city on your own. However, some people preferred to spend the afternoon shopping and wanted to explore the city at their own pace without much of a historical and cultural context, so the option not to stay with the guide was offered. Part of the group really appreciated such freedom so kudos for suggesting this option! Then for the main part of the evening - the winery was phenomenal, the hospitality of the owners was truly touching and their passion for wine was really impressive! The dinner was absolutely delicious (best lasagna I've ever tasted!) and when all of this is accompanied by 4-5 different sorts of wine for each meal while you're surrounded by the beautiful nature of Tuscany... well, you can't go wrong by booking this tour! We were a big group of 11 people and every one of us enjoyed every second of the experience. We highly recommend it!

Siena and Chianti
Paul_D, Oct 2023
Very disappointed with the tour. Maybe I should have booked a different one. The tour guide was very nice, but didn’t have to do much. She led us from the bus into Siena, and then told us to meet back in 2 hours. The wine experience was poor at best. The staff showed a total lack of interest - didn’t walk us thru the meals and wine. Very little commentary from them. They missed a great opportunity as their place is beautiful. But the execution was awful. I’ve had great luck with Viator but this one was clearly the worst.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Dear Paul, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that our tour didn’t meet your expectations. This is a beautiful and relaxing tour where the tour leader brings our customers to explore the amazing city of Siena and to taste the flavours of the Chianti wine other than a delicious typical meal in a winery surrounded by the Tuscany hills. Our tour leader provides detailed information about Siena and its highlights on board the bus but then we give some free time to explore the city at client’s leisure following the suggestions of our expert tour guide. We carefully select our wineries so we are terribly sorry to read that something went wrong with them. We will for sure forward your comment to the owners so that they can improve their services. However, we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed the location, thank you! We really hope that you can join us again despite this experience. Have a great day, CiaoFlorence Staff
Great evening at Sienna and wine tasting with dinner
Pedro_L, Oct 2023
We had the opportunity to explore the beautiful medieval city of Sienna and later a wine testing accompanied with dinner.
Lisa was a Wonderful Guide
KATHLEEN_M, Oct 2023
Lisa was fantastic! We learned much about Sienna and wine.🍷 The country side was beautiful! despite the rain. Loved the winery, its vineyards were huge really some thing. The winery inside and outside was very impressive. Loved the family and the wine was outstanding really! And the accompanying food was very delicious! Highly Recommended! Would do it again!!!
Interesting tour but company could have been more flexible.
Dave_E, Oct 2023
There was an accident in the highway that delayed our arrival in Sienna. This meant that it was already dark when we arrived at the winery so we were unable to tour it. While the accident was outside the tour company’s control, i would have expected them to survey the group to find out of folks preferred to cut short the time in Sienna so that we could arrive at the winery in daylight.
Disappointing
strachanb, Oct 2023
Disappointment If we had a do over we would either skip sienna or do a train trip ourselves, then do a separate winery trip. Tour guide was ok, but provided the bare minimum of information on sienna and the Chianti region. Don’t expect a great “ guided” tour. Tour was 50-60 people. Something had led me to think this would be a smaller group, but probably misunderstanding on my part. Sienna is interesting. Will appeal differently to everyone depending on your interests. Lots of shops. Nice plaza to have a drink or bite to eat and people watch. Didn’t go into the Duomo. It is amazing from the outside. Many little streets to explore. Late afternoon definitely less crowded than mid day. Unfortunately someone was late getting to the meeting place in sienna so delayed getting to the winery by 20 minutes or so. The winery experience was very disappointing. Write up said: - [ ] Winery tour - 100% didn’t happen - [ ] “Up to 4 glasses” of wine with dinner - received 4 very small tastings. 2 white, one Chianti. A thimble of dessert wine. Sure they were all in glass, but you won’t feel as though you had even one “glass” to drink. - [ ] “Prepared table among the vineyards”. Well since it was completely dark it was probably a good thing we were all seated at one long table inside the barrel room. Elbow to elbow. - [ ] Winery food was ok. Portions smallish which is ok for me however a big eater may leave hungry. Appetizer of salami with 2 tiny pieces of cheese was good, the accompanying crostini with olive oil hard as a rock. lasagna was fair, thinly sliced pork and potato plate was interesting although very salty. Dessert was a biscotti with the thimble of dessert wine. All in all we were disappointed and would not recommend.
Stop in Siena was lovely...
Glenn_J, Oct 2023
Stop in Siena was lovely however arrived at winery too late in pitch dark unable to see surrounding views, castle etc. Dinner is not really a 4 course made out to be in the brochure with cheese & meats to start, a basic Lasagna followed by sliced pork and potatoes. No vegetables or salad ( even on a share basis would be ok) Dessert was really disappointing....Biscotti biscuit only. Not really value for money unfortunately.
It was fine... until it wasn't
Eugene_S, Sep 2023
We were on the 9/23/23 English/Spanish tour with Sebastian. Before the group left Florence, it was stressed to us the importance of being on time at the meeting places for departure and that because it was a dual language crowd, Sebastian would speak in one language and then the other and that everyone should be quiet so that we would all get the information he was giving. It was also stressed that being on time and being quiet was "being respectful not only to him, but to each other." Everything with the tour was fine until we left Siena, which is a very lovely city. Everyone was on time at the meeting place in Siena except for the bus driver and we were left to stand in a parking lot for about 20 minutes. Seeing the sunset was supposed to be part of the experience and by being that late, we missed it as well as seeing some of the winery that we were visiting in some daylight. The winery and dinner were both fine and I felt somewhat sorry for the sommelier because no one was paying attention to what he was saying and it was very noisy. Things really went downhill on the bus on the way back to Florence. Apparently, Sebastian's job was over and being "respectful" to each other was no longer considered necessary. There was a large group who were downright rude, yelling and singing. There was no attempt to suggest that we be "respectful" to each other and in fact, it was almost as though the bus driver and Sebastian were egging them on by playing music over the intercom. I'm fine with yelling and singing - have at it - just not on an hour long bus ride.
The tour guide MADE the experience happen

Frederick was an amazing tour guide - speaking three languages on the bus to acquaint us all to our agenda and adding tons of informative tidbits!
Great Way to See Siena with a Fantastic Vineyard Dinner!
JamesBarnes, Sep 2023
Had a great day with Gaiya and Luigi? Awesome stop in Siena with 1.5 hours of free time to roam followed by a great dinner at the vineyard. Could not have asked for a better time.
Sienna and wine tasting with dinner
Emily_H, Sep 2023
The trip was as described but I did feel a little rushed. Basically you are paying for the transportation as once you get tot he destination, you are on your own. The wine tasting and dinner was good but not exceptional. I also thought we were squished at the table for dinner. Location was very pretty.
Not quite as advertised?
Marianne_G, Sep 2023
We really enjoyed Siena! Wish we would have had more time there! We were a little disappointed that we didn’t have dinner outside, with a view during the sunset. The dinner was inside and we could go out only after the meal, when it was dark. So that is the main reason why we gave 3 stars. The experience was fine but since the sunset part was specifically advertised, we expected to actually see the sunset! Our guide (Gaïa) was super sweet though and our driver (Nicola) drove safely. The meal was good and the wine too. :-)
Misleading
Jana_P, Aug 2023
No sunset!!! The staff knew nothing about a sunset. Food haha we were starving had to go spend money after our “dinner” we thought we were getting. 2 paper thin slices of roast pork and 1/4 cup of potatoes. If I was that vineyard I would be embarrassed to serve that.
Awesom Guide, Loved Siena but disappointed with Chianti wine tour
Marika_L, Aug 2023
Our guide was amazing and very friendly. I was hoping to get some pictures when we visited chianti wine place. That was a little disappointing. Some how I thought that our dinner is outside or at least we wd have some time to take pictures. Almost all of our group sneaked out in the middle of our dinner so we cd get some pictures before sun goes down. Our group thought that information and pictures of this trip are miss leading. I wd like to be out and enjoy the sunset rather than be in dark winery.
Loved the vineyard dinner
Iris_R, Aug 2023
The vineyard, dinner and wine was excellent. Ordered four bottles that arrived when we did. Highly recommend.
Amazing trip!
Freya_M, Jul 2023
From start to finish the experience was great, siena was beautiful, with plenty of free time. The winery and dinner was very intimate and extremely worth the money
Highly enjoyable. Great day out!
PAULA_P, Jul 2023

Mother daughter winery trip
Lili_I, Jul 2023
We had an absolutely magical time from start to finish with our guide Gaia and driver Barbara. Gaia gave us lots of information and history of places of interest throughout our trip. We had a lovely time walking around Sienna. Then made our way to the Winery. The Host Luigi was fantastic. The food was matched with wine tasting. Food was very tasty and fresh. We were almost not going to attend this tour based on others reviews. We are so happy we attended. This made our mother daughter Italy trip more memorable. Thank you for the experience
Do not waste your money and time
Camila_G, Jul 2023
If you are expecting to walk around the winery and get a history of how the wine is made DO NOT TAKE THIS TRIP. You will leave from Florence and visit Siena for 1.5hrs and then go to a winery where they will serve you cafeteria type food, won’t refill your wine if you ask them to (only 2 small pours of white wine, 1 of red and a small shot of dessert wine). You are not allowed to walk around the winery, you are placed in a room with barrels and are not even able to see the sunset. Save your money.
Fabulous!
Austina_N, Jul 2023
This was a great excursion from Florence! Exactly as described and more…lots of wine samples with the meal!
