We really enjoyed this Chianti vineyard tour with Luke. It was wonderful to see at least a bit of the Tuscan countryside and the places we stopped were great. Our only complaint was how early it got dark since it was a fall afternoon tour. Of course the guide couldn’t control this…everything else was great!

One great winery other terrible

The first winery was amazing, excelent the place is beautiful, the wine is great, very welcoming and entertaining, we even bought a case to send home. The second winery however was very underwelming. The wine was good and the setting was pretty, but zero entertainment, little explanation, only one glass for trying three wines, the waitress even poured the next wine without checking if the glass was already empty, many of us had very mixed wines. Gabrielle was a great guide, very kind and with great explanations, he took the time to receive everyone's review of the second place In summary, the first one 5 stars, Gabrielle 5 stars, the second place 1 star, hence my rating.

This specific tour is a scam. They tell you to meet at the train location and look for staff in green. We waited over an hour and no staff ever showed up. Please avoid and take a tour with credible people.

Likely a scam

I am fairly certain this tour is a scam. The only instructions we were given were to meet at the square the train station at 2:30pm, look for people in green shirts, and that we'd depart for the tour at 2:45pm. Upon arrival at the square, walking around to every inch of the square, there was no one in green shirts and no tour groups. We spoke to the visitor's information desk, who were confused about the tour location and confirmed we were in the right place. I turned on data on my phone and paid for a travel pass just to try to call the tour operator, and the phone went straight to voicemail about 10 times. Then, we called Viator customer service who was also unable to reach the tour operator. We stayed in the square until 3:30pm without seeing or reaching the tour guide. It really ruined the day, since it was our last day in Italy and we were SO EXCITED to be able to go wine tasting. Unfortunately, there were no other tours that day so besides the $177 wasted, we also missed out on a really fun experience we'd been looking forward to and did not see any Tuscan wineries. If i could give zero stars I would.

We spent an hour trying to find the group. Then we were told the Viator voucher was never validated by the Florence Adventures. So we didn’t have seats. The leader finally called her supervisor and they said we could go if some customers didn’t show up. Our tickets were nearly $200. With Viator and there’s were half of that. We were finally allowed on the us thanks to the wonderful guide. I feel we were over-charged by Viator since it was supposed to be a smaller group instead of the 60 people on board. We booked at least 4 tours with Viator and expected more from them. Another walking tour we had to leave because of heavy rain and the guides trying to figure out how to break up the very large group into smaller ones.

I would book direct and skip viator!

The confirmation for the departure had 2 locations - which was confusing I went to the first location - for the specified time of 2.30pm and they were not there - they sent me the location but I wouldn’t make it in time so they left with out me! I would double check everything!! I haven’t been given a refund and spent an hour explaining with no other support but deal with the tour operator yourself . Better to book directly tbh!

La dirección de salida que indicaba la aplicación viator estaba incorrecta. Cuando nos dimos cuenta que la ubicación estaba incorrecta me puse en contacto con el tour operador, la persona que me atendió se puso grosera y tardó a mandarme la ubicación correcta en el mapa. Entonces no podemos alcanzar el punto de salida a tiempo aunque estábamos en el lugar indicado por la aplicación viator 25 minutos antes la hora de salida.
