The Salt Mine tour includes 800 steps descending into a depth of 135 meters underground and up to 3 km of winding corridors.
The temperature inside the Salt Mine is stable all year long, around 14 degrees Celcius.
There is an original miner's lift to bring you up to the surface.
The exit shaft is 500 m away from the one used to enter the mine.
Not recommended for travellers with a fear of small enclosed spaces.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 30 travelers

What an amazing time we had! From booking to commencing the trip, Matt from Legendary Krakow was super friendly and went out his way to make sure we were all looked after. What made it even nicer was the fact it was a very small group being taken to the Salt Mine where we joined a larger group tour when there. It gave us a chance to bond with the people on the travel there. The tour was extremely well organised. We would thoroughly recommend!

An excellent tour, from the guide to the time for the tour. The history was fantastic. A must see. The staircase down was much easier than I would have expected. The statues and cathedral were incredible. A must do if in Krakow.

The salt mines are amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us laughing. Be prepared for lots of walking. It’s a popular place so the tour is a little fast paced. A must see if visiting Krakow.

Salt mines was good guide was knowledgeable only reason gave a 3 star was we booked to be picked up and dropped off at the hotel, but instead we got picked up but dropped off in square. So had to get own way back.

Great Tour in Krakow

We were in Krakow to visit the Christmas Market. One side trip we were told to take was a tour of the Salt Mines. We were not disappointed. The trip for Old Town Krakow to the mines was about 40 minutes. Our driver was very prompted in picking us up and also very clear in telling us where to meet at the end of our tour. The Tour guide at the mine was great. Her English was very good, and she was very knowledgeable about the mines. It definitely is a lot of walking, but it is worth it to hear the fascinating story of the development of the mine and the carvings within. We would certainly recommend a tour it your schedule allows for it.

Well worth a visit, the mines are extraordinary. I went with elderly parents who still walk but are a bit slower, they made it but were tired. Group was probably a bit big, lots of barging and trying to get a seat for an 80 year old man off a group of 20 year old...impossible! Lifts were an expensive option down. The tour company were excellent, on time with both pickups and driver David, friendly.
