Not for adults looking for a relaxing escape to the Polish highlands.
Theresa_H, May 2024
Us: active mother 70/daughter 40 interested in history, culture and outdoor activities. Pros: - Joanna was enthusiastic and organised and gave clear instructions, but was borderline patronising - we didn’t need a 20 min brief on how to use a water park. I suspect however that this is learnt behaviour from previous hapless tourists… - The water activities park was entertaining in parts - The natural scenery was beautiful - This would possibly be an enjoyable tour for children/families. Cons: - the tour involved 4 hours of unguided driving, scenic but boring. Joanna joined us in the wooden village (Chocholow) Some companies do provide tour guides the whole way. - the wooden village was ok with some explanation of highlander history and culture, couldn’t go inside without additional charges. - cheese tasting at wooden hut at side of road, interesting, one piece of halloumi-esque cheese but very much part of the tourist conveyor belt. - Zakopane. Well. It clearly is a beautiful natural area but the tour described ‘ticket to top of mountain by funicular railway’. We did take a funicular, but it was a 3-4 min journey to the top of a small hill that looked at the mountains. The view was great but was surrounded by a touristy hellhole with overpriced kiosks and food and con artists that even our tour guide told us to avoid. There were plenty of additional activities for children (at extra charge) but of no interest to 40/70 yr olds. We left as soon as we could in the hope the town was better. It wasn’t. More naff touristy kiosks and nothing to fill 2.5 hours with, except a long (overpriced for Poland) lunch. - The ‘thermal baths’ are a water park. It is a good water park but it’s important to realise it’s not a relaxing adult spa. There was a separate area for adults but you couldn’t spend 2.5 hours there. The tour guide was very enthusiastic about a swim up bar and daiquiris outdoors. This is ok if it’s your thing, but the DJ and crowds alongside it really weren’t for us. The water slides were good fun, and really the main reason we gave a 2nd star. Bring your own towel and water shoes/flip flops. - Our driver drove dangerously throughout - speeding regularly, tailgating, hooting, stopped speeding only when he used one of his 2 phones (WhatsApp and phone calls), which he did not use hands free. At one point his driving made me yell out loud as I thought he was about to run over a pedestrian. We had other tours in Krakow where the driving was nothing like this. - We did not receive any brochure or written material at any point (this was advertised) - The ‘hotel’ pick up was further away than anticipated on a random street corner. Google Maps was essential!
Amazing time at Zakopane

Great, friendly and informative guides.

Tour guide and driver (Adam & Joanna) were both really friendly and spoke fluent English. They were really informative and kept us updated on the plan for the day. Finding out about the culture of the highlanders and trying the local cheese was great and much more exciting than I thought. The spa is HUGE. I would recommend going in the colder months, there's nothing like swimming in a themaspa outside while it's snowing.
Not worth booking

Had to be picked up from another hotel which we had to walk 15 minutes to, delayed pick up, very uncomforatble small coach for 3 hours each way, cheese tasting was a joke small piece of chewy cheese, thermal baths were essentially a water park not what was suggested by the pictures. Couldn't hear the group representative, as we were squashed at the back of the coach. Very disappointed.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
On this day there was a big marathon in Krakow. Most streets in the city center were closed to cars and leaving the city was difficult. Pick-up from the hotel was not possible on that day
Beautiful scenery bus poor organisation
Anthony_M, Apr 2024
Beautiful scenery lovely place however the operator should have made us aware that flip flops were needed for the thermal spa. We had to spend most of our time zakopane looking for reasonably priced flip flops. To buy them in the Spa was extortionate. We also arrived back in Krakow about 45 minutes later than we were told. I had arranged to meet family for dinner based on the time we were told for our return, which was frustrating. So very poor time keeping. The operator does this trip regularly , so no excuse for the lateness as they are in charge of the itinerary and timetable.
Outstanding

What a really great experience both me and my wife had yesterday. Was so overwhelming how lovely this country is and the great traditions they still use today. The tour guide was absolutely brilliant gave us loads of information and answered any questions that was asked , I can't remember her name but she had blond hair.
An unforgetable experience!

Nice tour. The tour guide matthew was great. He provided us the necessary informations for each part of the tour. He even suggested which restaurants to visit (which we did in zakopane and the place was great as the food was even better!) Strongly recommended
Excellent and very informative

The whole trip was excellent and the guide, Michael, was very good. Michael was very knowledgeable and explained everything very well. I highly recommend the trip.
Zakopane
Lili_D, Mar 2024
Amazing trip, so much to do, you do 2 little trips first to the house and then cheese and vodka tasting then to Zakopane for 2 hours free time with amazing views, food and shopping then to thermal springs for relaxing time in the thermal baths. Matthew our tour guide was amazing made us feel welcome and always explaining what is happening next and how to do things.
Very chilled out day.
Calum_G, Mar 2024
Thermal baths were excellent, swim up bar was really good and no cash required as the wrist band is used for everything.
Nice itinerary shame about being rushed though it
amirah_s, Feb 2024
The trip itself was lovely and our guide Kamil was nice but the entire day felt totally rushed and I constantly had to clock watch which really took away from my enjoyment. The tour advertises as 3 hours in zakopane yet we were given only 2.5 hours to go up in the cable car, look around zakopane and try to eat lunch meaning I had to inhale my food and had little time to just wander around. Again the thermal baths were advertised as 3 hours but once there we were given a tight 2.5 hours from leaving the coach to getting back on which meant I again had to rush as time was needed to change, find lockers, shower etc leaving a limited time in the spa. If we had been given our full 3 hours in each destination I would have loved this trip but instead i feel that the guide and driver were more concerned at getting back to the city early which really left a bad taste in my mouth and made me feel quite short changed. If I were to go back I'd make other transport arrangements.
Amazing day trip

Great trip to Zacopane and the Thernal Baths. All instructions and timings were great. Using WhatsApp was so much easier. Mike was really friendly and provided lots of information throughout the day including recommendations for restaurants and shops etc whist in Zacopane. Would highly recommend this trip.
Beautiful day out

We were picked up from our hotel on time in a lovely clean bus. Ola was our tour guide and what a lovely lady she was. She looked after us perfectly and gave us lots of good advice on things and was very informative. We visited a little village, then onto a cheese and vodka tasting experience, from there we went to Zakapane which is a beautiful place and went up to the top in the Funicular. The views from the top were just breathtaking, unfortunately they have had very little snow yet, but it was still beautiful. We then had time to have lunch in Zakapane before we made our way to the Thermal baths. We did enjoy the baths but it was very busy as it was half term there for all the children and having been to the thermal baths in Budapest these were nothing like it, all the same it is well worth doing and who wouldn’t like to be in a hot spring, viewing snowy mountains with a glass of Prosecco in hand. We were returned to our hotel safely and on time. Thank you Ola for looking after us so brilliantly. I would recommend this tour if you are visiting Krakow.
Fantastic!

We did this trip (as well as another one) with Michat who was amazing! The trip itself was wonderful, and the tour guide was extremely informative, 100% worth the money. Michat ensured we were all comfortable during our journey, was funny and very educational.

Rebecca_P, Dec 2023
Great trip! Whole day was packed. Thermal baths were lovely and our tour guide Max was great! The only thing was it was snowing and the driver was obviously experienced so he was a bit racy other than that great trip overall!
