Parts of the Tower are not pushchair friendly due to the cobbled ground. Buggy parks are located in few areas.

There are a large number of steps throughout the Tower with cobbles laid in some of the surfaces and pathways. There are some low doorways.
If you get there by taxi, as the Welcome Centre is on a pedestrian street, tell the driver to drop you off on Petty Wales.
Nearest undergroud station is Tower Hill
Comfortable shoes are recommended
Please wear warm clothing during the winter as it can get really cold
Please be aware that the queue for the Crown Jewels can be long in the high season
You will see the Crown Jewels but guiding in the galley is not allowed
You will have pre-booked tickets, please remember that security checks are mandatory.

We had a great experience with Mehru, who was very knowledgeable and engaging with our four year old. She was very flexible with our needs and tailored her information to be kid friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the crown jewels and the various towers. She even offered to take a few family photos, which was so sweet. I highly highly recommend this tour with Mehru.

Absolutely excellent—Mehru was so well prepared, incredibly informed, and kept our 6 and 8 year old boys fully engaged for a three hour tour (not an easy task)! We learned so much; worth every penny. Highly recommend that anyone with children request Mehru for this experience.

This is the way to go if you are touring the Tower of London! I was travelling with my niece who is a bit older than the recommended age range for this tour, but our guide, Lucy adjusted her approach based on her audience. It was fantastic and was good to have someone guide us through all the key spots. Lucy was an amazing guide and her wealth of knowledge about not just the tower but English and world history was impressive. Her stories were fun and engaging and she encouraged and answered all our questions for a fun, engaging 3 hour tour. The time flew by! The overall tour by itself was great, but we were very lucky to witness changing of the guards and the ceremony of the word while we were there. This was largely a credit to Lucy again who had a sense of what was going on when and put us in position to see all these rarer things during our visit. Would highly recommend!

Our guide Adrian was extremely engaging and full of interesting stories and facts about the Tower of London…his mastery of English history was more than impressive!! He engaged our teenagers and made it informative and fun for the whole family. I would highly recommend the private tour worh Adrian and have him regale you with stories of royal intrigue, murder and torture!

This was a FANTASTIC way to start our London vacation. Dan was our guide, and he had a wonderful mix of stories for the kids (ages 11-7) and the adults. He also was very flexible about what we saw and how long we spent at different spots given that it was pouring rain for most of the visit! Very worthwhile to have an individual tour guide with us to keep our 12 & 9 year olds engaged. Plenty to see and we were lucky to have a day that wasn't busy. Be aware that the tour is both inside and outside, so layers and rain gear may be needed.

My family (including an 8 and 10 year old) really enjoyed our tour! Our guide made the information she shared accessible and interesting to our kids. Kids were engaged most of the tour, but got a little distracted toward the end. 3 hours might have been a little much for them. But, we were able to see a lot, including the Crown Jewels, so it was worth it!

Mehru was absolutely wonderful. She had so many props and stories to keep our ten year olds engaged. And she brought them little gifts, which was very sweet. We learned so much and really enjoyed our time with her and at the Tower. Mehru also gave us tips on how to spend the rest of the day - thanks to her we checked out Borough Market and had a delicious lunch.
