What To Expect

Your Maui complete island helicopter tour begins at Kahului Heliport, where you board a luxurious, air-conditioned helicopter with comfortable leather seats. Your professional tour guide and expert pilot talks to you through your headset, before lifting off and immediately soaring over fields of waving green sugar.

Over the course of this helicopter tour, many of Maui’s most jaw-dropping spectacles emerge in front of the window, from the verdant valleys of the West Maui Mountains to inside Haleakala Crater. Buzz above the Hana coast and the famous Road to Hana, and see many more waterfalls and crystalline pools than you would from the seat of your car.

After cruising above the lunar landscape of Haleakala volcano, your pilot turns the helicopter towards the rugged West Maui Mountains. Hear the geology, history, and lore behind these sacred, forested ridgelines, and emerge at the fabled “Wall of Tears” that drips with dozens of falls.

While flying above the West Maui coast, get aerial views of neighboring Molokai and the legendary, 4,000 ft. sea cliffs, and in winter it’s sometimes even possible to spot Humpback whales from the sky.

Back on land at Kahului Heliport, you can purchase a souvenir a USB containing footage of your flight, complete with the pilot’s expert narration and Hawaiian music in the background.

Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each single passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, combined weights of 420lbs per couple or for groups of 3 or more an average weight of 200lbs or more an additional seat must be purchased at time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
It is recommended that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.

Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.
Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat. We follow the same FAA regulations as the airlines.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

Amazing helicopter tour with Drew!

The pilot Drew made the whole experience amazing! I went with daughter and as she’s pointing things out her window to me, Drew would say don’t worry I’ll swing around so you can have a better view. He is also a local, so he showed us and told us so many interesting things from his experiences. Drew flew right up to waterfalls so you could even see down them, pointed out a rainbow forming over Lahaina, and then said now let’s see if we can find whales at the end of the season and he did! Best helicopter tour I’ve ever experienced!!

Trip of a lifetime--a must-do in Maui

Trip of a lifetime. You'll get to see lots of waterfalls + inside the volcano, the observatory, mango groves, and fly over clouds, Hana & the ocean. There's music & pilot explanation accompaniment the whole way, and they'll make a video and 1 photo you can buy at the end. Staff was great leading up to the fly day and will hold your bag at the desk while you fly if needed; loved that they emailed directions. Our Uber driver's app had a tough time finding it, but my GoogleMaps keyed to the correct address fine. Wear dark clothes to avoid reflection on the windows to facilitate photo taking. Definitely worth the money, esp if you've never done a helicopter tour. Thanks, Air Maui!

All personnel were professional and knowledgeable. Only disappointment was we were in back seat right behind pilot and got VERY few pictures. For cost of ride, wish we could have taken home pics to share.

We went up for 40 minutes, but had to return early due to weather. Without asking, they offered us a free flight the next day, or a full refund! That feels unheard of given they can't control the weather. 1,000% recommend, awesome experience, Captain Vince is the man.

We Missed Out

Disappointed that we were rained out and no one contacted us to reschedule. By the time we contacted Air Maui, we were told that the tour was canceled and there was no available revoking for a party of 4 until 5 days later, 3 days after we were leaving Maui. We apparently had an opportunity to fly a day earlier but no messages or voicemail was left when Air Maui contacted me.

Viewing Hawaii from above offers a different experience...beautiful valleys, waterfalls, cliffs... We were lucky to have a good view of humpbacks. Unfortunately, the route to Haleakala was changed to Molokai due to visibility and weather, otherwise might have given a 5 stars.
