What To Expect

There’s no better way to see Hawaii than from the seat of a helicopter, since most of the valleys, ridgelines, and waterfalls can only be viewed from the air. On this helicopter tour of the West Maui Mountains and Molokai, you’ll be instantly transported from Kahului Heliport to the heart of the ancient Hawaii, where it’s said that the bones of ancient chiefs are still secretly buried in these valleys.

Hover above ridgelines carved by 1.5 million years of wind and rain erosion, where mists cling to the bright green leaves of indigenous trees and ferns.

Staring out the window of the A-star helicopter—which has six, forward-facing seats—watch as dozens of cascading waterfalls carve rivulets down the cliffs. After circling the center of the West Maui Mountains, this Maui helicopter tour continues to Molokai for a flight past the world’s tallest sea cliffs, which dramatically plunge nearly 4,000 feet to waves crashing on the coast.

  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 3 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability

  • Infants must sit on laps
  • Most travelers can participate
  • Weight Restrictions: Due to FAA regulations, all passengers must be weighed at check-in. For each single passenger weighing 240 pounds or more, combined weights of 420 lbs per couple or for groups of 3 or more an average weight of 200lbs or more an additional seat must be purchased at time of booking. This is for the safety and comfort of all passengers. It is important to provide accurate body weight at checkout.
  • It is recommended that all passengers wear dark clothing to help have less reflection in the windows when flying and therefore you can get better photos during your tour
  • Flight routes & sights may vary due to weather.
  • Infants under 24 months must sit on an adult lap. PLEASE CONTACT AIR MAUI IF BRINGING AN INFANT. Over 24 months must occupy their own paid seat.
  • Please contact Air Maui directly for your check in and departure time at least 72 hours prior to your flight!
  • Not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair lift to accommodate wheelchair passengers nor can the staff personally/physically assist people into the helicopter
  • Helicopter is a shared cabin with 6 passengers and one pilot on each flight.
  • All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Under representation of body weight may result in cancellation at check-in with no refund.
  • No bags. This includes purses, fanny pack, backpack, etc.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

This was a fantastic experience for our family. Our pilot, Nathan, was entertaining, knowledgeable and kept us safe. My husband flies small planes and we (I) were very concerned about the high winds the day of our trip, but the helicopter wasn’t turbulent and the trip was super smooth! The sights were related to an iMax movie, up close to waterfalls, goats and cliffs! Highly recommended.
