Heavy trafic

Too much trafic! Difficult to do all together at that time. Spent more time in the car than outside. Driver was great, not his fault! Beautiful landscapes!

Three towns in a day...not too much, not too little

By far the best part was our tour guide Luca. Funny, very knowledgeable,, attentive and prompt. This is a great way to see Amalfi, Revello, and Positano in one day. We were picked up promptly in Naples and returned near center of town on schedule. We will plan to return to all three towns at some point, but on a short trip this works well.

Incredible! Do it! The coastal drive with an experienced and knowledgeable guide is a game changer. Francesco was the BEST! This is not a road for beginners. Take the tour...so you can sit back and enjoy the breath-taking views. The private van was really wonderful. Francesco shared history, local stories, don't miss tips when we were exploring in town, and sent to the best cafes. It truly makes a difference to have a great driver and guide! It is hard to capture how much you will see and experience in one day. And, Francesco was expert as "reading us" and tailoring the trip to our "style". We didn't miss anything on our "wish list" and this tour gave us a taste of the coast and the different towns and vibes the Amalfi Coast offers. Don't even think about it. BOOK IT!

We should have been informed that road closures would make it hard for this trip beforehand. We would have picked another excursion. Our driver drove a little too fast on the Coast.

Dear Valentin, Unfortunately there are some factors in our tours that we can't control. From what we gathered from our driver, because of some disrupture, the street to Amalfi had an alternate sense, so the driver quickly got you there so you wouldn't get stuck for an hour at least. We are sorry if it looked like he was speeding. All this was done remaining in the street limits though, as we track our cars costantly, and we surely don't risk with anyone's safety. This ensured the normal and complete carry out of the tour.

Amazing day on the Amalfi Coast with Sal!

Needless to say, your guide is extremely important as to the overall experience of your excursion. We were very lucky to have Salvatore (Sal ;-) as our driver and guide. There were closures on the road from Amalfi to Positano the day of our tour and Sal made an executive decision to start our tour in Ravello which turned out to be a winning move. We missed most of the traffic and had a wonderful day. The Amalfi coast is stunning and driving on the coast road is not for the timid. Sal was a great driver and an engaging host. I could not recommend him and this tour more highly. He even got us a railing table in Positano for lunch which was amazing. Molto Bene Sal! Fantastico!

Worst Guide Ever & Most Disappointing Experience!

First, our “guide,” FRANCESCO, was late & made no attempt to engage with our party of 3. Did not volunteer any plans as to what we could expect. Instead we were making all the conversations & questions. After flying by lots of cut offs where others were taking pictures, I mentioned that we would like to do the same. He said he was taking us to a lemoncello factory where we would be able to use a restroom & have the best views!! We did not need a rest nor did we have any interest in the factory, so explained that we would rather have more time at Amalfi. Each time we passed something, we had to ask, ex: oh, are we in Poisitano? When we reached Amalfi & he asked how much time we would need, he appeared surprised that we would have lunch there as he thought we would wait to get back to Poisitano although it was close to noon. When asked for lunch suggestions, he merely pointed to the right & said there were a few over there. We spent 2 hrs in Amalfi & about an hr in Poisitano. The straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back is when we were returning, he suddenly pulled into an area saying we could use the restroom & guess where we were?? The lemoncello factory!!! Without ANY prior mention to us!!! We bought nothing, used the restroom & attempted to take pictures where he said it was the BEST view!! NOT!!! There were lots of trees & not a good view. We can only surmise the Francesco gets a “kickback” when he stops at the factory!!!! Incidentally, my husband who was sitting in the front noted that he was over the speed limit at times & driving with one hand on the wheel!!!

Texting While Driving

Having completed well over fifty tours with Viator, we have generally had great tour experiences with the selected tour guides/company. On this tour, our driver/guide texted while he drove and significantly exceeded the speed limit so we just didn’t feel safe nor did we want to confront him while he was driving us over an eight hour day. So, following the tour, we reached out to the tour company and shared our safety concerns which they indicated their driver/guide denied. So, we contacted Viator to let them know and are also posting this concern here for other travelers considering this tour.

Our driver was fantastic!! He had a basic agenda for the day (based on the specific tour you book) but asked what we wanted to do and what stops we’d like to make. He made excellent suggestions, provided insight on the area, gave us extra time when asked for or less if we wanted to be picked up sooner. Also, advised us on some of the “less touristy” stops/spots, which is what we were hoping for. Great experience, best way to do the Amalfi coast imo

Such a wonderful day trip! Antonio was the best!!! Drove over the mountain. Went to Ravelo, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. We even stopped for wine tasting in Sorrento and had a blast!! Definitely recommend this tour, and will do it again!!

Save Yourself The Trouble

Our tour was a set of unfortunate circumstances. Our van was extremely ran down. Seat belt buckles not being used were clanking throughout the whole tour. After 8 hours it gets very grating. Aldo our driver who was nice but kept stopping places for us to shop when that was not part of our plan. At one of the unscheduled stops he ended up getting a parking ticket. That ticket cost us to lose an hr. We had to sit in the hot sun waiting for the ticket to be written. Due to the lost hour and all the shopping stops we didn’t have time to stop in Postanio. Then Aldo started driving like a maniac due to lost time. Some of the people were literally screaming when Aldo was driving and that didn’t detour him to drive more calmly. Very dissatisfied with this tour and the company viator is using.

Nothing more than a private driver

Unfortunately our driver did not speak English so he was unable to give us any information about the locations we would see. He was able to point out to us times when we should get our camera ready to take a particular picture. Because of the traffic we were only able to make it to Positano and Amalfi, we ran out of time to go to Ravello.
