What To Expect

Meet your guide on the corner of Magazine Street and Washington Avenue in New Orleans, and start your walking tour of the Garden District. You'll take a leisurely stroll under towering oak trees, magnolias, and crepe myrtles while you listen to the rich history of the neighborhood. Discover 19th-century homes belonging to authors, poets, movie stars, artists, and sports legends, including John Goodman, Benjamin Button, Anne Rice, and Archie Manning. 

The 2-hour tour concludes at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, the filming location of many famous movies and TV shows including Interview with a Vampire and Double Jeopardy.

Yvette was a great guide! Super knowledgeable of the area and homes. We loved hearing history of the city, how the Garden District came to be, info on architecture of homes, those that lived in them and the stories that happened there. I would definitely recommend!

I found our tour guide Erin, to be a great host and was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She was also quite funny as well. She answered all my questions and was very engaging. I learned a lot from the experience and would recommend the tour for anyone interested in learning more about the history of the area. It was especially interesting to me how she explained the friction and run ins between the French Catholics and American Protestants through the years. She really made the history come alive in a delightful way. She also shared many interesting stories from her own experiences growing up in New Orleans and attending a local private school in the garden district.

We had someone obviously newer who did not make a connection with any of us and was being followed around by someone who was not properly introduced. This tour was more like a tour of houses of the rich and famous no gardens were viewed and we couldn’t even go into the cemetery. The tour was not 2 hours in fact the guide took off before we got back to Starbucks where we started
