First, let me apologize to you and your group. Any Tastebud guide would be mortified to learn his or her words embarrassed or offended any of our guests. I will make it a point to emphasize to our guides that words do matter. I will address this matter with our staff.
Let me assure you of one strong commitment. Tastebud Tours will not shy away from including the contribution of African, Afro-Creole, and African-American persons (all of those terns are used in New Orleans) to the culture and history of New Orleans. We are taking immediate steps to address your concerns and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. I will personally make sure our guides will use accurate and appropriate terms. Words matter.
