Ugo was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He knew the secret areas known by locals. Very interesting. Excellent English a plus. It was an area that we had never been before, even after multiple times to Paris.

We did a private tour for two. It was worth the price!!! Hugo was so knowledgeable about all of French history! The tour through the Marais was fantastic and although I’ve traveled to Paris many times I learned so much! I would never have seen or noticed the details that Hugo pointed out. What a nice young man! I highly recommend!!!

My family and I loved our tour with Francois. Francois gave us a history lesson in an engaging, informative and meaningful way. He kept our kids (age 13 and 10) interested and active and he was somber when necessary and funny and entertaining but thoughtful throughout. The tour was very heavy for our family at times as he explained the history of France and WWII but this was a necessary part of the tour and area as we walked around. The visit to the Shoah Memorial was particularly very hard for us but a necessary visit and history to experience and learn about. He explained the history respectfully and we all walked away having learned so much and deeply touched. He rounded out the tour of the neighborhood with his extensive knowledge of French and European history and he gave us contemporary glimpses into the art scene by visiting contemporary galleries, shopping, and patisseries and boulangeries. We would 11/10 recommend this tour and experience to anyone looking for something personal and poignant and engaging.

The weather was awful, it was bucketing rain, and cooler than you’d expect from Paris in September, but Francoise was charming, punctual, knowledgeable, entertaining and suitably flexible to make an unwieldy and somewhat damp group successful. Our tour guide, Tamari, was exceptional. I got lost and was 10 minutes late. She was easy to reach and responded immediately assuring me not to worry. The group waited for me to begin. Tamari has a charming personality, and with her art history background, was able to provide important insights on our tour. She recommended great restaurants in the area and the best places for patisserie and Jewish style food. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Highly recommended!

Malaika is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent storyteller who shared her love of history and place with us. While the title says Jewish district and might show up as Jewish walking tour, it is more so about the history of the Marais District which includes a Jewish quarter as well as churches and former mansions.
